Fernando 9
If the video was released before The Monster impacted it could've been competing for number 1 stop. Wait im delusional but still. Maybe I´m much delusional too :dead: In fact I still have faith it can be our next Just Dance

Fernando 9
I can't remember exactly what everyone was selling what weeks, but I just know RITD and ET spent some weeks over 300K. So basically you're saying that without banners and selling less than 1/3 the #1 song, DWUW had more of a chance shooting to #1 over a song that would have had to less than double its sales and benefit from banners. I'm sorry, but that is not logical. I actually thing the video could boost the downloads.. just bc we shouldn´t even care that much about video views since banners are hurting everyone´s airplay (and the song is doing ok without the video anyway), and I barely remember that TEOG was about #4 on itunes...but how much it was selling comparing to the first spot? do you thing it was more than half? I´m not pretty sure about that
craig 680
you can´t compare the competition that TEOG face it with DWUW´s though..I mean by the time TEOG reached its peak ET and RITD were huge..It couldn´t be #1 anyway, DWYW on the other hand could be # 1 (i guess) if it had a video at the right time. Right now the top 1-2-3 aren't especially dominant, but damn it competitive to make top 10. So many big name artists, and several songs that slayed in UK this summer that were delayed in US. I´m not pretty sure about that TEOG was selling 165K and 166K in its third and fourth weeks. I don't know how much it sold in the weeks after that, so in those weeks it was selling about half or more than half. RITD and ET were not selling over 300K every week they were #1. They spent a few weeks in the 200K area while still being #1 on Hot 100, so a #1 for TEOG was not out of the question with a good video boost. Tommymonster44 0
Nope but I sure hope she is. You don't HAVE to be nominated, although that usually is the case. We know she's gonna be around Grammy weekend cos she's performing at that Carole King thing, right? So if she doesn't at least attend it would be totally crazy. She always said that she doesn't like attending award shows where she isn't nominated or performing. Musicians attending shows just to attend is celebrity status in her book. And we all know how she feels about celebrities. She hasn't commented on this topic in a couple of years, though. Hopefully she swallows her pride and attends, because she could really use the buzz. Mills 446
TEOG was selling within the top 10 on iTunes, mostly within the top 5, all throughout June 2011 - the time when Rolling In The Deep was #1 everywhere and KP tied MJ's record via LFN. The video of TEOG was released in mid June 2011, and it has managed to keep TEOG selling within the top 15 on iTunes for the entire month of July. It only left the top 40 when Adele's SLY started to become huge around late August. So yeah, have we got a more elaborate video for TEOG, it could have peaked higher. DWUW is completely different though.

Sorry, but despite TEOG´s good run, I couldn´t see the song reaching number one at all, take a look at this http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/472086/katy-perry-takes-third-week-atop-hot-100-with-airplay-boost

Fernando 9
At least we can agree these two song were the best chances for real hit after TFM (except for BTW that is not a tipical hit as everyone knows)

_Lam 597
DWUW is a major hit in Canada. Especially in the english territories. Went to Montreal and heard it everytime I openned the radio. As for french part (Quebec), it's a bit less popular because radios there are stupid as **** and plays old song, there's no diversity there. If DWUW can be a hit in Canada, there's absolutely NO REASONS WHY I CAN'T BE THE SAME IN USA. It's basically the same market, with less Celine Dion !
