In 6 weeks we dont know if ARTPOP will sell as much as PRISM did. One month ago, I was expecting that at the moment ARTPOP will be higher than PRISM, but its not. Lets wait for something really good to happen, like ARTPOP beeing the first album to sell 1m in US or 2m worldwide. It's more useful promo than SNL or the AMAs tbh 30 minutes and 50k likes, next update will be a green update for sure. I agree with Mariano, because the video went viral BECAUSE of Wrecking Ball. The video wouldn't have gone viral if it was with Unconditionally, or Roar, or Applause. It is because Wrecking Ball had so much nudity in the video and it caused so much controversy, that's why this video got so viral: because it pushed it even further and people enjoy watching it. DWUW's had enough US promo in my opinion, it just needs The Voice finale + better airplay + commercials to air more often again and it'll be completely fine. That video is give me a headache. On one hand: Streaming is important, but nobody was watching that video because of the song. Billboard should only count views from official chanels. Youtube and Vevo. But omg... on the other hand: if he made that video of that song and that joke of the wrecking ball and people laughed at it is because the song is really popular and everyone knows about it and they find it funny not only because of the guy but also because they know what is going on... so... what's more important? The only reason ARTPOP's 3 week total is high is because her 3rd week fell on Black Friday. Katy's first and second weeks were higher than ARTPOP's, and her 6th week is higher than Gaga's 3rd. Thats why WB only has 20% more than The monster. Do you know who is not helping this change? DWUW. The video must have impact on sales, not only on streaming now. Do you know who is helping?
