1. This makes no sense bc DJWS confirmed that he produced Jewels & Drugs,

2. and Rick Rubin isn't credited on Dope, I'll wait until 11/11 for this information.

1. DJWS is credited

2. These are COMPOSERS list, not PRODUCERS, hence no Rick Rubin.

I don't have a problem wit this, at all. Will is not my favorite person, but I love some of Guetta's work. ...The fact Madeon was on Venus! Very excited! :D

1. ? no he's not, it just says lady gaga.

2.Ok, no need to be a dick about it

Can someone, without being snippy or rude like user Chianti, explain to me the difference between composer and producer? I'm very well educated within the music realm, but really have never differentiated these two.

if this is real- WTF gags?   :eww:

seriously she needs to stop harping on about how she writes every single word, melody, etc.

having so many other songwriters apart from zedd/anton, madeon/hugo, paul/dj white shadow and redone makes gaga look like another generic pop star with little creative control.

gaga (and people like fernando garibay) may say otherwise, but having 7-8 people with writing credits undermines the general public's perception as a 'true' songwriter.  :smh:

there's a reason why so many pop songwriters in the past like kate bush and michael jackson decided to take more creative control, by not only composing and writing, but also producing their works too. they did so not just to achieve their vision without anyone else's interference, but also to gain more respect from their fellow musicians.

gaga is now getting SLAMMED on this site for having so many songwriters on ARTPOP:

http://thatgrapejuice.net/2013/10/lady-gaga-reveals-ARTPOP-songwriting-credits/

to those who don't know:

-writer- the person who writes the lyrics.

-composer- the person who comes up with the music (e.g. john lennon/paul mccartney on most beatles songs).

-producer- the person who funds the recording sessions, and givesideas on how the music should sound, be arranged, etc. this is the equivalent to a film director (e.g. sir george martin producing the beatles).

to those who think gaga can't produce a sound recording herself because she's a female pop star, check these examples out:

Alicia Keys

Kate Bush

i find it sad that in order for gaga's songwriting ability to be properly a--lysed, we can only go back to gaga's self-composed tracks like the songs off the "red and blue" ep, speechless, you & i and princess die.

if the songs on ARTPOP are not up to scratch and up to the standards of the gaga-and-only-one-other-songwriter tracks in the past (e.g. poker facebad romance, dance in the dark, marry the nightscheisse), i'm gonna stop stanning.  :noparty:

People who specifically set out to criticize Gaga- who do not represent the public in general- will always criticize her no matter what she does.

Calm down, we have no idea to what extent each person in the list worked on each track. At least one is just a sample (Sun Ra). Sampling is pretty widely accepted nowadays- look at the respect Kanye West and his co-producers get.

The average person  is not motivated to look up and read the credits for Gaga's songs- we only know them because we're sitting here on a forum community dedicated to discussing and a--lyzing every new scrap of ARTPOP info. These credits are not part of the general public's perceptions of Gaga.

People who purposely set out to criticize Gaga- who do not represent the public in general- will always criticize her no matter what she does or does not do.

Your definition of producer is outdated.

So Gaga is the female producer of Venus?

these are songwriters, not producers!

You guys give  producers too much credit, they are just different sound effects catalogues...

I think it was Eh, eh, and or Paparazzi, but didnt alternate versions of those songs made by the different producers she was working with, leak?

What Im trying to say is that it doesnt matter who produces the songs, the only thing they do is make the song sound as closest as possible to Gaga's original vision of the song, its not like "hey  Paul, here's the lyrics, do whatever you want and its on the album". There are a lot of changes that happen trough the whole process, remember on 60 minutes, the little BTW snippet? that sounded different to the final version even when that happened like a week before the release?, What we get is something that Gaga is comfortable and happy with, thats why many songs go into a vault and never come out, because they just didnt work.

You could say she has a bunch of songwriters

But she was involved in EVERY SINGLE TRACK!!!

Plus, it's GaGa! We know that she's hands on with her music in ALL aspects, Songwriting, Producing, Mixing, Mastering, etc. that's why she's always in the studio!

Forget what the critics say, we know that GaGa is a talented woman, and at the end of the day that's all that should matter.
