mic 1,415
Is it just me or MANiCURE could easily fit on Red & Blue? There's something amateurish about it, that's my disappointment of the night artistically-wise. It's super catchy tho.
Redstreak 6,653
I have realised that she will never top The Fame Monster, you should do it too :) She is not the songwriter she used to be Girl, you know if TFM didn't have the chart success it did you would not care about it either. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
Interludicrous 15
I'm really shocked (but also glad) no one else feels this way. I, too, was very disappointed with the performance today. And trust me, I live, sleep, eat, and breathe Gaga, but nothing today really impressed me. Everything just fell flat. And it's annoying because I so badly want to like it, but I just don't know if I do. I did like MANiCURE, Sex Dreams, and parts of Swine, but everything else was flat. I'm just kind of shocked that this is what she's been working on the past two years. I wasn't expecting her to go back to previous eras or not grow as an artist, but I almost feel like she's not growing now. I agree with you that the lyrics were not that impressive and songs like ARTPOP and I Wanna Be With You were kind of cheesy. Aura has grown on me (I think I was just disappointed the first time I heard it). I'm sad cause I was so, so excited for ARTPOP but now I'm scared I won't like or love it as much as the last three albums. I do love Applause though- and I was excited when she said it almost didn't make the album because that would mean there are better songs. However from tonight, I would say Applause is the strongest. I am super excited for Ratchet though! And I know the studio versions will be different, but I loved You and I and Speechless before I heard the studio versions and I didn't get that same feeling today. I just wish I could've connected and love each song cause I love Gaga so much. I'm surprised that you think she's not growing or changing. If anything, the performances showed a lot of growth and change from her usual sets. It wasn't the standard "10 songs dancing, 2 songs piano, 3 songs dancing, done" routine. The choreography was smart, Swine was a brilliant combination of her being at the piano but still being really energetic, and I'm REALLY happy with how she was just standing at the mic for ARTPOP. That said, the music itself did dissapoint me a little. I can't relate to any of the lyrics, and I'm kinda sad that she still has that 80s sound in some parts of the songs (MANiCURE, Swine). It's not as fresh as I had hoped it to be. But I still love Aura and ARTPOP, and I think I'll love the studio version of Swine as well, which means there's 4 songs I don't like so far (Sex Dreams, IWBWY, MANiCURE, Jewels & Drugs). For Born This Way, I didn't like the title track, Judas, Hair, and initially not TEOG either, which were some of the first songs I heard. But songs like Scheiße, HML and Electric Chapel made up for it. So don't give up hope yet Edited September 2, 2013 by Interludicrous

Her voice and presence and everything about the performance was amazing. It's one of the reasons why I admire her so much. I loved the concept of her being completely raw and honest on stage (wardrobe, hair, make up changes on stage; confessions, etc.). I connected to those parts of the performance. But I agree with you on not relating to any lyrics- mostly because it was hard to understand it. And trust me, I'm not giving up hope haha. I'm sure there will be some gems in ARTPOP for me. I remember I didn't Poker Face, Bad Romance, Alejandro, and Teeth at first but now I love all of them. And I remember I was disappointed when she dropped Born This Way (the single) but I still liked it. This time just scared me because it wasn't the same disappointment feeling I got before. I just don't want to not be a fan of her music.
Elizabeth 450
I was absolutely enthralled by the show, I loved it all and I'm reall excited to be able to listen in full to how diverse this album will be when it comes out. It seemed like not only was the music different, but Gaga was as well. She seems so hurt, like she can barely keep herself together. I was really turned off during most of the performance because I felt like I was watching a washed-up version of Gaga perform, rather than the amazing performer I fell in love with. Did anyone else feel that way? She just seems so plagued by demons. I wouldn't word it in the same way, but I get where you're coming from in this part. I wouldn't say at all it was a 'washed-up version of Gaga' because I thought her performace was amazing, but I do agree with the part about her seeming hurt. There were many points where I thought she was just going to burst into tears. I totally get that there would've been a huge emotional aspect of being back on stage doing a full show again, especially because it was new music. Maybe it's because she's actually addressing her past (although I would say she's done that before, although probably not the same way).

Stigma 205
So far this album is turning out to be my favorite gaga album, so I'm not disappointed. And I can't be with songs like Swine, Applause, Sex Dreams, ARTPOP and MANiCURE :)) Edited September 2, 2013 by JloKyM
gagasnip 0
Wow, wasn't this just a hole of negativity. I'm very pleased with the songs. Only thing I didn't like was that none of them have yet to scream out "I'm going to be an award winning single", but honestly after that performance I couldn't care. She loves us so much and to show her that we are disappointed with her would just about be the cruelest thing.
JPM 781
You're entitled to your own opinion and it's ok, of course. She'll never be the same she used to be but so are we. People change, I bet you've changed, too. There are still 7 songs to go and I'm sure you'll like some of them. Do you think every fan likes all of Madonna's albums? No, of course, it's just people like to listen to different kind of stuff. She is happy, though.
teo 609
But well thats just your opinion, so I'm not judging you.

Nullvoid 71
My only real problem was that damn Mariah Carey Divas Live weave.. I hate it!!!!! It was like huge as **** and not cute at all... atleast Mariah had it styled better...
teo 609
Yes! None of the new songs cant even come close to ALEJANDRO! Let alone Bad Romance or DITD You're giving TFM way too much credit. Nothing that deep about Alejandro tbh(and keep in mind it's one of my all time fave Gaga songs).
