MANiCURE1295 8,673
But I am worried that Katy may overshadow Gaga single wise.
Cherry 17
But that basically describes We Can't Stop, and we all know that isn't slaying the airwaves.1. Miley is nowhere nearly as big of a radio artist as Gaga and never has been2. Miley's song/video has a lot of dislikes on iTunes and YouTube (it's just about half-likes-half-dislikes) which probably concerns programmers3. "We Can't Stop" sounds drastically different from Miley's past work. It has more of an urban sound than top 40 radio usually goes for, but she hasn't had a great track record with rhythmic, and urban radio is clearly not going to play hernot comparable imo Edited July 30, 2013 by Cherry

_Lam 597
TBH it is really a fair competition. Both Gaga and Katy could win. The thing that is scaring me the most is that we don't know which direction Gaga is heading. I love artistic Gaga but I'm afraid she cannot pull a BTW again after 2 years off. BTW was really pushing the envelope, the message, but she knew she could do it because everyone was craving for the album. But with ARTPOP, the situation is different. I hope Gaga is aware that she needs to seduce a more mainstream market this time otherwise her fanbase will be alienated. But if Gaga has a strong single, I wouldn't be worried at all. This time, it's more about the music because Gaga as established her image/look/style over the years and a shock stunt wouldn't make any difference with a bad single. So let's hope the single is great and not "too much" for a first single. The thing that is annoying me is that Gaga at least is taking risk. Katy is making pure safe pop friendly music make to sell and it's annoying that she's stealing radio support from Gaga while she, at least, is trying to shake things up. Katy is like a ****ing annoying sister taking away your concentration while your doing homework... Edited July 30, 2013 by _Lam
craig 680
Meh, Katy is gonna take so much radio support away from Gaga. Annoying. There isn't a single female in top 10 on radio airplay now. Not even ft. There is room for both to smash. Edited July 30, 2013 by craig

Well Foxes and Mary Lambert are in the Top 10 but yeah I get your point. No lead females.
Arturo 40,746
Blurred Lines the album out now. I expect a decline in single sales this week. So don't get to startled when his single sales rise next week percentage wise because he'll just be recovering from Complete My Album :)

Not enough albums will sell to put a dent in single totals.

Nick 29
So you guys don't think having two versions of the song (single vs album) will cause the single version to drop off the top spot?
Pure Adrenaline 1,518
At least Gaga described Applause as fun. I think that's all what people care about. People don't know the dark truth behind Paparazzi (even after watching the video) and the GP still embraced it. what's the thruth ..... It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
