I feel like the word faceless is a pretty easy thing to understand. It literally means without a face.

But people think it means generic and cheap? :smh:

I want to say you are blinded by hate, because I really hope you don't just not understand.

"That genre is so faceless"  :deadbanana:

This kiddo needs some education.

Not all EDM is cheap and generic. There are many underground artists that work pretty hard in their music.

EDM is very faceless though. That can be both a massive strength and weakness.

I cannot find the interview for the life of me, but I do remember an interview she did really early on when she released the very first photo of herself and how there was hardly any images of her. She talked about how she liked how there was a lot of EDM artists and DJ's that never release a photo of themselves and how she really liked that.

*After listening to this interview she says something very similar.

Gaga is Life

Her album was released in the US two hours ago and it is already at #2 just under Justin Timberlake in US itunes  :excited2:

Let's hope it goes #1 like here in Australia :excited2: (what's with Team dropping like a broken Wrecking Ball tho? :ohno:)

She kind of meant it in a good way, watch the whole interview

With the whole answer she shows how she is not really into music. Maybe the GP don't care about the DJs as she says, but the real EDM fans know everything about them and they know many underground DJs.

She is always criticising today's music and the GP but she isn't doing anything new.

everything on the radio is cheap and generic...

Radio is not everything.

She meant it in a good way, as in there is less focus on the image and more on the music.

Yet to see a Lorde thread where her comments aren't taken out of context and made to seem like she's being a b---h when she's not. :deadbanana:

Pure Heroine is #1 in Australian itunes though?

That usually happens when the album drops though. People like me bought the single, and then when the album came out I clicked "finish my album" so I basically traded a single sale for an album sale. That means there are now negative sales of Team. It should rise again soon.

I know right omg :rip:

The full quote in this interview

"In pop music there is a lot of focus on looks... I don't think that is necessarily to enjoy music. I'm a big fan of electronic music and it is interesting to me that.. that genre is so faceless. So many people in electronic music, you have no idea what they look like you don't know anything about their personal life, but it doesn't matter cause you love that music and I guess I just wanted to mimic them a little bit really"

Radio is not everything.

#1 she didn't criticise EDM music, #2 the things she has criticised (e.g the portrayal of unattainable wealth and opulence) she either addresses in her music or she avoids what she has criticised.

Also, I like how everyone loves calling her "pretentious" and in this interview when she is called a genius she responds with "I mean, it's flattering but I'm definitely not a genius. I just do something which I think is fun and makes me happy"
