Helxig 45,883
I'm so sick of multi-billion dollar conglomerates We have passed a tipping point long ago where only a handful of people hold all the power in the world. And the ONE thing we have to give ourselves small moments of reprieve from the consistent horrors of the world is entertainment. Which is becoming less obtainable and more expensive by the day, to fill the pockets of billionaires so they can buy superyachts and private islands There are gonna be a huge influx of shi.tty remakes, sequels and prequels of media that was once successful and treasured by many. If there's one thing they lovvve to do these days aside from hoarding money, it's crapping all over our beloved nostalgia Ruining the past, the present, AND the future I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
bxr 3,401
HBO Max and Paramount Plus will become one streaming service under Paramount’s $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. In a press release announcing the completion of the deal, Skydance — the name of the combined companies — says both streamers will “unify into a single service over time.” Skydance CEO David Ellison hinted at this possibility in March, saying during a call with investors that merging Paramount Plus and HBO Max would give the combined companies “a little over 200 million direct-to-consumer subscribers.” There are still no details about the timing of this change, or the name of the merged streamers, which HBO CEO Casey Bloys will oversee.
