The whole video feels like a big metaphor for her experience with the music industry and this headcanon could explain the visual choice.

Well I knew about these already (plus Donatella is an already finished instrumental as well for a different song) but at least she wrote the songs and Aura was not exactly the same when it was Kink by Infected Mushroom but most of the first half of the song is almost exactly the same yes.

I think it's unlikely because it's the only part of the video where this particular change was made, but I wouldn't rule it out. She was facing a lot of criticism for her appearance at this point of her career and I also think she was going through some body image issues, since she was extremely thin at that time.

Then again, she didn't shy away from some unconventional, campy looks at this period of her career. So looking glamorous all the time wasn't always a priority.

Can’t account for anything to do with TIHTY and CTM (because I haven’t heard there demos) but she wrote MJH Aura and PI — PI’s demo Tame played live wasn’t the same lyrics at all besides the chorus which was “it wasn’t love, it wasn’t love. It was just an illusion”

Mary Jane Holland was made for Gaga. That "Can't Beat the Machine" song was made after MJH in spite 'cause those people were told they couldn't have the instrumental.

Aura largely existed as Kink by Infected Mushroom but Zedd did a lot of additional work alongside Gaga after she decided to turn Kink into Burqa and later Aura.

I don't disagree with your original point, I just think ARTPOP catches too much flack for being "premade" when Donatella was the only instrumental she straight up took and used

She probably wouldn’t have envisioned it for herself at the time,

but I personally think if 2008ga saw this current future in a crystal ball, she wouldn’t do anything to change/alter it. She would welcome it 💰

Her whole career (artistic or otherwise) has been a business venture. 

She was arguably more full of sh!t about that back then (& a lot of that artifice endeared people to her)

People are complaining about ARTPOP instrumentals being reused, meanwhile I actually think it fits the themes of the album very well. You can make art by referencing or reusing what already exists to make it your own.

I also think, especially if we’re looking at Aura, you can’t deny the creativity of writing a pop song that is equal parts campy spaghetti western, western fetishization/metaphorical appropriation of Middle Eastern religious garb, reversal of traditional notions surrounding modesty/covering vs. nakedness + vulnerability inside a Brechtian deconstruction of her persona; all the while musically evoking, in a bizarre blender, both 90s-early aughts pop à la Britney + Spice Girls in the chorus alongside almost Iron Maiden-esque take on a Middle Eastern style melody.
 

The creativity of her contribution to hear something like that in a pre-existing instrumental is still incredibly impressive even if she didn’t build the whole thing from the ground up.
