elegidadedios 5,022
I don't wanna sound insensitive but I consider a legendary move to have it removed forever from her discography rather tan re-recording it for... Nothing, actually. I don't know if it makes sense lol
StrawberryBlond 15,594
I think it absolutely could work as a solo, though it helps to have a male vocal to bounce off hers especially as it's an RnB song. I think it would be so cool to have a song that has cross-genre appeal as Gaga's songs are mostly just liked by pop fans so to have a bit of crossover with RnB/rap fans with this helps more people listen to her and improves on her legacy. Most of us admit it's a great song and it was just let down by the wrong collab partner, so the idea of re-recording it with an acceptable choice would be good. But let's be honest, Gaga has terrible memories associated with this song. She's said that she wrote it back when she had very dark thoughts as an SA victim and had convinced herself that singing about her body this way was empowerment and that she'd never make a song like this again. So, it will be consigned to the bin of history, unfortunately... 19 hours ago, nATAH said: re record it with bruno mars with anti rkelly pr easy This is what I'm talking about. R Kelly or not, there is no redeeming a song with the lyrics “do what u want with my body, do what you want, don’t stop, let’s party” There are plenty of hit songs with similar or worse lyrics. What about the likes of "break up with your girlfriend cos I'm bored, you can hit it in the morning like it's yours" "he hit me and it felt like a kiss," "take all of me, I just wanna be that girl you like" and "and it's not even my birthday and he's tryna put his name on it" (which Rihanna did a remix of with her actual abuser). There will always be edgy and problematic lyrics in current music and as long as such lyrics continue to be popular, they'll continue to be made. sarahb 17,207
I feel like she got lucky in that she got past the R Kelly drama pretty unscathed. I don't think she should remind the public it exists... Do you feel him sir?
ChvVolk 2,508
Frank Ocean would've been a much better feature, or a female who has been heavily scrutinized by the media, like Janet Jackson.

She dodged a bullet there and doesn’t need people who never knew/don’t remember the whole situation (including the Terry Richardson video mess) looking up what the previous version was.
