You really have it out for her, huh lmao. I’m not even a ride or die, but it’s fairly obvious that Charli’s behind her aesthetic. It’s also not as if this is the first time she’s ever leaned into the indie sleaze + early MySpace era aesthetic before, so idk what about this feels out of step with her overall vision/aesthetic.

Charli chose the shade of green and decided on the album cover, the 365 party girl image was pushed by people after an interviewer pressed her for what brat means and she leaned into it. Her marketing wasn’t down to the company it originated from her, if that was the case then Confessions 2 would be a massively viral piece in the zeitgeist beyond gays. And it isn’t. So there’s your answer diva.

I think I just don’t like her music or her aesthetic. I’m not saying that it’s out of step with her general aesthetic - just that I don’t like it. If anything, Brat was outside of her usual aesthetic, and I actually thought it was clever and a big part of the success of the era for her.
