How competent is Gaga at piano?

To my basic bitch ears, Gaga has always seemed like a highly skilled pianist.

If there are any other pianists out there in these forums, how does Gaga measure up to other musicians (who are also singers) and just how competent is she?

I think she has the ability to write and/or play very complex piano songs but we haven't actually seen her do it, her music per se uses kind of basic chords and melodies, mostly.  Another thing is that, personally, I think she is too, I don't know how to say it... harsh? In the way she presses the keys, I think she could be a little more soft, but most likely it's an stylistic choice rather than lack of skill.

Not a pianist but I’ve asked my uncle before who studied it and is classically trained at it (was the first person in our family to go to university)

He has said Gaga is (from what he’s seen) a great pop/rock pianist but you can tell she is predominantly self taught because of her technique and her posture when playing plus she often hits bum/wrong notes or forgets to change chords often when she’s singing at the same time. 

For example, trained pianists mostly sit upright and have good posture at all times, Gaga often leans or slouches when she plays piano. Trained pianists also look predominantly at sheet music and not the piano itself, Gaga often looks down and up again at the sheet music.

basically; she’s very theatrical and good but she doesn’t play like she’s spent her whole life being a pianist.

Did she not play that piece in the beginning of Marry the Night?  she's been taking lessons since she was four, she's classically trained. I'm sure if she wanted to really cut it up at the keys she would/could but she writes pop music and puts on shows where the vibes drift back and forth between dive bar and theater

I ain't no musician, but I think when she's in concert and she sits down for the piano section she doesn't really bother that much with the piano. She breaks the song up, talks to the audience and just hits the keys every now and then. But if you look at some recent non-concert performances with Tim and Ricky - I'm thinking Antidote, Abracadabra on the Stern show and Vanish Into You on Colbert - there's no breaking the song up, and her piano-playing is a key component of the overall performance. She sounds very competent to my amateur ear.
