it was cute! just got home from the movies and i had a blast. i felt like it was a nice love letter to fans of the original film and gaga’s cameo made me chuckle. the pacing was a little weird for me but it was a good sequel compared to other movie franchises.

I waited to hear the 2 other songs (aside from last clips) until I was in the theater tonight. I thought it was very good. 9/10. A few cute callouts to the first film and not all were obvious. Snappy one liners and good writing. I was entertained. Unlike a lot of movies lately. Glad I had just re watched the first one the other day.

I didn't really like it tbh. I thought it was strange how much Andy was fawning over Miranda for most of the movie. I mean I know she learnt a lesson about staying true to who she was from working at Runway and through Miranda but I never thought they were that close or she looked up to Miranda as a role model(quite the opposite actually). Also there were plenty of nods to the first movie that felt to much like fanservice and a bit unnatural at times and there were also a few scenes that were not really important to the plot and were just there to fill time and were pretty useless. The plot was also a bit confusing at times and hard to follow along and when the movie ended I was like "it's over?" and it felt quite abrupt. All of that said it is better than most sequels we get nowadays but could have been better. Also the Gaga cameo was fine but didn't really add anything to the movie overall.

I loved it. It has some problems but I don't give a f*ck... I think it's the best sequel we could've got for the iconic first movie.

I just wish they used Glamorous Life in one specific Miranda scene, they wasted a bop

Saw it last night and I thought it was pretty good. A solid 3.5/5!

Spoiler

Loved the core four of Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, and Tucci. Thought the newer cast was good, if not a little underdeveloped.

I liked how they addressed the current state of print media/journalism and how it is under attack from the ultra-rich. Wished they hadn't done almost identical story beats from the first one, but eh, it was still an interesting enough story!

Loved Gaga's cameo and the use of both Shape of a Woman and Runway. Although I felt they really could've used Glamorous Life during the scene where Miranda is walking around Milan after the conversation with Justin Theroux's character (or at least I think it came after that scene). But oh well, I'm not the director!

Definitely one of the better sequels I've seen in recent years. It didn't feel like an unnecessary sequel for a cash grab because the storyline around journalism dying and the industry changing is literally what we're experiencing. :bradley:

Some cute throwbacks and references to the first film, Gaga's cameo and performance was iconic. The only criticism I have is Anne's character having a side storyline with the Aussie character (throwback to the Aussie from the first movie) felt unnecessary.

I've just watched it. It was stunning and emotional! Gaga is so sharp and bold. I love Meryl Streep, but I feel the story progressed a bit too quickly.
