gagzus 26,426
Following a successful theatrical run, the latest Spider-Man film is scheduled to arrive on Netflix this December, just one week before the highly anticipated theatrical premiere of Avengers: Doomsday. The latest installment in the Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is officially heading to Netflix this December. The film, which originally premiered in cinemas on July 31, 2026, has already completed its initial theatrical run and is currently available for digital purchase and rental through various platforms, including Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango, and Sony Pictures Core. Since its digital debut on October 6, the movie has been accessible as a premium video-on-demand title. While viewers have been able to rent or purchase the film for a fee, the upcoming Netflix release will allow subscribers to stream the title as part of their existing membership without incurring additional costs. This move is expected to bolster the film's reach, leveraging the established popularity of the Spider-Man series. https://www.zoomtventertainment.com/hollywood/spider-man-brand-new-day-netflix-streaming-release-date-article-156289779
gagzus 26,426
Although it’s ahead of Doomsday, this marks the first major Marvel release to be on streaming (and not digital purchase) outside of Disney+ in almost 5 years! Ironically, after the Skydance merger and Disney+ having new licensing with Netflix following that merger. nkta 805
it’s a bit shocking to me that Disney+ is licensing to Netflix again… It kinda kills Disney+ business in the long run

Disney owns Marvel Studios, which only acts as a producing house on the franchise. and it will be on D+, but all Sony movies go to stream on Netflix. Sony does TECHNICALLY have a streaming device but not in the way Disney+ works. They own Crunchyroll that is for anime and manga for instance. It’s also not the only Disney owned movie and shows being added to Netflix this year after they signed a licensing agreement. Probably a deal struck after the Skydance merger was happening.
