So being gay is not appropriate for young audiences? the same way heterosexual sex isn't? Anything goes! 4

Jtn8 11
This is why Pixar sucks now. It used to take on hardish subjects with dignity. Now just pretty pictures. 1
BrandyFinest 277
Expect for more CEO's and the like to say drivel like this for upcoming years. Also I dont care what Pixar has to say about whats "appropriate for the kids!" or not, isn't a major plot point at the start incredibles a failed suicide attempt? IDK about you, but I'd rather show my kid gay people than attempted suicide ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
27monster27 15,089
Pixar hasn't been a true cultural phenomenon for awhile now anyway. They can make as many sequels as they want to beloved classics. Their time is leaving, and hopefully the current situation they are in can push it further, though I fear for MAGAs backing. Het's can be sexual all they want while the most pristine and uncontroversial queer person is suddenly a sexual figure, and can only be talked about in a sexual context. I hate it.

For a while now their films have just been a series of increasingly simplistic, uninspired ideas. Elemental was literally "what if there were two people and one was made of fire and one was made of water?" It's hard to believe it's the same studio that made WALL-E and Coco. Almost like the inclusion of that scene would open up a discussion of that exact subject and allow children to learn that being in a non-heterosexual relationship is OK and completely normal. Not to mention it'd be a learning opportunity for said children to know that there are gay people in the world. 。゚☁ glued up, sometimes it's too much ☁ ゚。

phantasmas 11,520
looked him up and he was born during the time of the Hays Code which had strict rules in place for film studios (no same sex relationships, no dissing the church, no white slavery) so im not surprised when old heads like him dont wanna see gay stuff on screen because they were told it was bad their whole lives not an excuse tho, just food for thought
