It used to take on hardish subjects with dignity. Now just pretty pictures.

Also I dont care what Pixar has to say about whats "appropriate for the kids!" or not,  isn't a major plot point at the start incredibles a failed suicide attempt?

Pixar hasn't been a true cultural phenomenon for awhile now anyway. They can make as many sequels as they want to beloved classics. Their time is leaving, and hopefully the current situation they are in can push it further, though I fear for MAGAs backing.

For a while now their films have just been a series of increasingly simplistic, uninspired ideas.

Elemental was literally "what if there were two people and one was made of fire and one was made of water?"

Almost like the inclusion of that scene would open up a discussion of that exact subject and allow children to learn that being in a non-heterosexual relationship is OK and completely normal. Not to mention it'd be a learning opportunity for said children to know that there are gay people in the world.

Girl I wanted to still believe in Pixar after Disney bought them (even though I just googled and it happened in 2006 but somehow I have memory of being like "ew!" even though I was about 9 lol...) but whew they have fallen down the drain.

looked him up and he was born during the time of the Hays Code which had strict rules in place for film studios (no same sex relationships, no dissing the church, no white slavery) 

so im not surprised when old heads like him dont wanna see gay stuff on screen because they were told it was bad their whole lives 

not an excuse tho, just food for thought
