This morning I saw a lot of US tiktok creators reporting that there were big "glitches" on tiktok where their posts weren't being put through by tiktok/they couldnt use tiktok.

Very suspicious.

Obviously not every singer etc is going to speak up.

But we should be questioning any celebrity we like who made it a defining part of their career that they were political activists and spoke up but is now silent. 

In 2025 I went to multiple concerts where the singer/band invited charities like MSF/doctors without borders and local foodbanks etc to fundraise and recieve donations. I've seen multiple celebrities use their platform to promote petitions, promote fundraisers, highlight stories the mainstream media was trying to ignore etc. 

Like there's no excuse. Everyone can and should be doing things

I remember at my JWT when Gaga gave a shout out to a petition that was going around at the show. She told people to stop by their booth and sign the petition to get the measure on the ballot for reinstating the voting rights of felons in Florida. That's 1.5 million people. And we got it passed in the end.

I had already signed it in line before the show but god, I was so proud to be a fan of hers in that moment.

This is the thing.

I have sympathy for the argument some put forward about not wanting to invite danger while touring. I walk past the Manchester arena bombing memorial every time I go into the office so I know how real the risk is.

But like there's a thousand things that can be done before you get to the stage you risk pissing off Maga extremists.

Like, there wasn't even promotion for the BTW foundation or Stonewall UK or anything at the UK shows.
