Was The Dead Dance a Mistake?

No it‘s not. It did moderately well and it‘s stable, and it did help elongate the era. Time will tell, but I can totally see it entering her Halloween repertoire that keeps getting boosts around Halloween every year.

I also love how much fun dynamic it brought into the Mayhem Ball with the performances, the jumpscare, the choreo and these things like the VMA performance, the fans on stage, the actresses from Wednesday joining. I hope she continues doing things like this, as well as the surprise songs, the encores, the outfit changes, etc.

And on a personal note, since its release my brain keeps jumpscaring me with „do the dead dance…“ entering my mind randomly at least once a day, it‘s so much fun and I love that a lot.

Y’all really need to stop caring about charts. You all have more fun not stressing over something that doesn’t have a real effect on your life.

It does have effect on our life though.

Are you honestly going to pretend that DWAS and Abracadabra doing well, being known by a lot of people did not have a positive effect on your life?

In this situation theres two mistakes; her not releasing anything between Abra and this, letting the momentum kinda die.. secondly all of the fans who didn't stream it enough and spent the energy bitching about it instead of lifting it up. Like she's done so much for this song after y'all bitched the **** about her ignoring  Disease to not showing any appreciation for the push.

Well we won't fource ourselves to stream/listen to a song that we don't like :laughga:

I don’t have to pretend. It didn’t have any bearing on my life lol. I think it’s great that, at least in the case of Abra, a song I love is a hit and I’m glad DWAS is a success if for no other reason than its success helps her career, but it has basically no meaningful impact on my life.

Gaga didn't do a follow-up to Abracadabra from the main album because she was holding off for this song.

Gaga didn't do a post album release single because singles are a dying media format.

holy scheisse

We love the dead dance however.,,, she should’ve just seized the moment when bloody Mary was blowing up and released a spooky video instead of trying to duplicate its moment 2 years later with a new song lol:ororomunroe: but it doesn’t matter bc clearly Bloody Mary is officially a Gaga classified

River

I mean, it took All I Want For Xmas Is You like 15-20 years to become a classic xmas song.. at the beginning nobody cared much for this song or the whole Xmas album of Mariah.. and here we are now..

The Dead D!ck is not a mistake, it was always meant to be a halloween song and it takes a while for holiday songs to become classics.. it's not an instant.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Controversiaga

The idea wasn’t too bad. The idea of a Gaga song for the Wednesday series with Tim Burton directed MV sounds like a recipe for success…..

but the song and video and choreo are all equally awful

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

I think she should continue to push the primary album forward because it simply deserves it... TDD is an okay song but please stop the delusion if you think it's anywhere near GOE, VIY, Zombieboy, etc. I could go on. Commercially speaking, each of the three songs above would've gone farther than TDD. A strong song is a strong song.

REALITY

Just don't stream the song and move on :triggered:

I can't with these passive aggressive threads like "My opinion on...", "Was ____ a mistake??", "What Gaga should have done". Y'all are just saying this sh*t because you don't like the song. You don't care about the optics of the era or how Gaga or others feel about the song itself. You just hate the song.

And listen, that's fine. No one has to like 100% of the things she does, but these passive aggressive threads are annoying as f*ck. "Was Dead Dance a mistake?" No, it wasn't. You just don't like it. That doesn't mean the decision to create and release the song is inherently bad.
