Trump has worst economic approval of any US president in history

All eyes will be on the new inflation data coming out tomorrow, but voters have already passed judgement on President Donald Trump’s economic policy, reports CNN data analyst Harry Enten.

“My mama was a doctor and I think she'd look at these numbers and say that Donald Trump's doing ‘absolutely awful,’” Enten told CNN anchor Kate Bolduan, pointing to CNBC polls showing Trump down -13 points on the net approval rating on the economy and -19 points in a Quinnipiac survey.

“And keep in mind we're talking about hitting record lows for Donald Trump in either his first term … or his second term, which is ongoing right now. The bottom line is Donald Trump is at the lowest point ever in either of his terms,” Enten said. “… Donald Trump is beating himself in the way you don't want to beat yourself.”

When compared to the economic favorability of other presidents going all the way back to the 1970s, Enten said Trump was hitting the pavement even harder than President Jimmy Carter, who had more than a decade of Richard Nixon-induced stagflation to contend with during his single term.

“Worst economic net approval ratings at this point among presidents since 1977,” Enten said. “… Look at this. He's the worst for any presidency at this point. How about the second term? … He's the worst for any president at their second term at this point, so Donald Trump isn't just beating himself with record lows. This is the lowest for any president ever at this point in either a [first] presidency or for a second term.”

It means nothing.

The morons that voted for him will be vocal about how poorly Republicans are governing the US just to turn around and vote for the Republicans again anyway.

Our only hope is that people who've never voted before get pissed off enough to vote and they vote against Republicans.

Whimsical bitch

I truly don’t understand how far your head needs to be shoved up your own @$$ to have voted for Trump the first or second time.

I don’t have any patients left for people who lean even slightly right. I’m so over it.

All Trump hears from his yes minions and cult loyalists...

The economy is booming...you dropped unemployment by 300%, increased jobs by 900%, price of groceries down by 450%, and we've raked in 5 trillion dollars thus far from tarrifs the economy is thriving Mr. Dictator :vegas:

Exactly this.

They lined up behind Reganomics despite it robbing them blind.

They then lined up behind New Gingrich because they blamed Clinton for Reagan robbing them twice.

Then they lined up behind Bush because Gingrich robbed them.

Then they joined the tea party who cut their social security, took their homes and ruined their kids future.

And then they joined MAGA because the tea party screwed them.

And when MAGA eats itself, they'll back the next right wing puppet movement paid for by the billions trying to establish feudalism.

The gays know how to party

honestly, it's like when people were saying "Taylor Swift is over, the Swifties hate the new album" and then she smashed records.

I live in Virginia and all I can hope is that they vote democrat for our governor, otherwise it just leads to a governor who doesn't think its discrimination to fire/not hire someone for their sexuality amongst other troublesome policies.

Its disgusting how many people are in such denial or just refuse to educate themselves

One thing to keep in mind is that people who vote extreme right don't know anything and don't care at all about economy, jobs etc... They vote extreme right because they hate on anyone who is different than them (aka white christians), and extreme right makes it easy for them to hate.

I always tell myself that people who vote extreme right vote to be shot 10 times in the leg hoping that people they hate will be shot 11 times.
