Plus, holiday classics will qualify to return above No. 50 regardless of total chart weeks, and then be subject to the rules noted above upon their descents; the same for newly-surging non-holiday catalog songs, with those without significant chart history eligible to debut at any rank, as considered individually.

Good, those recent record breaking after record breaking longevity hits didnt make any sense and it blocks way too many songs from growing

However many extra weeks Wildflower got when it should've been recurrent, add that to DWAS's total and I'm fine :ororomunroe:

Obviously DWAS survives the Taylor album bomb only to go recurrent due to a new rule that was pulled out of Billboards ass

They should release another chart with none of the stupid rules and less counting radio that's purely just streams, purchases, videos

Counter intuitive and counter productive imho, weird update and they need to explain why more.

Hopefully its designed to counteract the impact of streaming on the longevity of some chart songs and give newer songs a chance to breathe

Honestly what bothers me is in a few weeks DWAS would probably be out charting every Showgirl song except Fate of Ophelia (saying this as someone who loves Gaga and Taylor but disliked Showgirl)

These rules they come up with just seem so random at times. I appreciate they need to keep the charts moving but things were just so much simpler pre-streaming era. The charts just feel unreliable and manufactured nowadays.

I don’t think this would give the outcome we want…

I genuinely can’t stand billboard…I swear they have a vendetta against Gaga and they’re not even hiding it tbh.

it's not random. Billboard closes its “chart year” in mid-October. this chart is the first of Billboard's 2026 chart year.
