haven't even finished season 1, is it worth continuing?

It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen

I'd say yeah, but season 3 has been a mixed bag of like, 70% cringe ass garbage and 30% material to actually be invested about

it's def better than the previous 2 seasons tho, imo

wait no I take that back, some really dull stupid stuff has happened this season

ok so I really don't know what to advise

Couldn’t get through season 2. The whole Che storyline just wasn’t it for me. I will watch season 3 eventually! I love these characters but I don’t know what else there is to tell…

Lord Mayhem

I love how actors and directors make it seem like THEY decide whether their shows continue on or not based on when THEY feel

Like...the studios and top executives look at numbers and ROIs...the writing is on the wall...the ratings were down and nobody was watching season to season

It’s unfortunate but I can understand. I have only seen the first two episodes of this season but the past 2 have just been bearable.

I personally dislike Aiden. He’s such a whiney little man. I disliked him in the original series and that didn’t change for this series. I did kinda like him in the second movie, very little tho. I HATED Che. Like, what a terrible character!

I love Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda. The new ladies are interesting. Anthony is kinda overused.

The original series was great although it had a few flaws toward the end. The first movie was good. The second was terrible. This series is just okay. I just don’t understand why they would allow poor writing for such an iconic series.

It depends! I watched the original show when it was airing so these characters have been a part of most of my life (20+ years). Other people have a different association with them, so it depends on how you connect with the characters really.

It's definitely a completely different show, which the show runners and actresses have made very clear in interviews and such. It's not perfect and has some cringe but I would say each episode is worth watching just to see where the women are now and how they (struggle to) navigate the 2020s. There's tons of callbacks to the original show so if you love that kind of stuff like I do then it's worth it!

The main problem is they are mostly no longer very relatable as they all have lots of money. And they tried to work Gen Z storylines and modern sexuality/identity topics in where it didn't really fit.

In the end, I've learned the more you try to make it "Sex and the City" and not let it do it's own thing and go for the ride, the less you will enjoy it. It's not for everyone!

Beyond actual spin offs like Fraiser etc

Sequel sitcoms just don't work and it's why I'm glad Friends never made a comeback. (Although I will be ready for anything if Schitts Creek ever did something lol)

These big sitcoms ended for a reason - they almost always reached a point of closure (by being big enough to choose when to bow out) and usually ended because the storylines were drying up and the actors were getting too big for their boots and/or fighting with each other lol
There's nothing to be gained for fans from them rehashing these sitcoms years down the line

It wasn't a show, it was a bloated paycheck for MPK & SJP, at the expense of beloved characters. Though Carrie Bradshaw ALWAYS sucked.

SATC had substance, AJLT was just (bad) style.

Good riddance.
