I mean this is probably the most low key release she has ever done, not even acknowledging it until a few hours after release. The radio deal doesn’t officially kick in until next week. The movie doesn’t release until May 1st. The music video is rumored to release at the end of the month. The genre/style of song isn’t something she’s done in over a decade so I don’t expect more casual fans/listeners to pick up on the song till down the road.

I wouldn’t bet on that! Abracadabra and The Dead Dance both climbed after their release. I personally see this being a slow burner and I’m pleasantly surprised with its debut tbh. I thought anything over 3 million would be a miracle. I expected 2.5 million. Hold My Hand peaked during Top Gun’s release week if I remember correctly and it wasn’t even featured that heavily in its promo material (from what I remember). Bigger movie for sure but Gaga and Doechii / Runway are all over DWP2’s promo materials

I feel like this is a release, where we should just enjoy whatever comes.

We're still getting a music video, possible red carpet appearance at the premiere and maybe even a few tiktoks. I know that's a low bar, but all she did in the past 18 months plus what we know will come - it feels like she's not even thinking about stopping.

Well yeah, but by the time the effects of the promo and the movie drops kick in, the streams will be down. Essentially I see this having more of a repeak along the cute little 3M mark but won’t actually surpass it by a lot. It’s not really a song that gets legs later on and a lot of little monsters did not vibe with it. I see is as a long shot

If the news about a Gaga EP coming with the release of DWP2 is real, we'll have a lot of stuff to enjoy this Spring / Summer. And I feel like it's not even related to her being back in the studio recently. She's a hard worker

Yup, I mean we know she finished Mayhem (and Shape of a Woman) in around June of 2024, then did Harlequin right the month after. I assume that she's far more ahead in the process of LG8 than we think and this EP is just a cute creative outlet with session leftovers or concepts she always had, but never could place on a project.

I'm sure those rumoured songs are all from 2024 : I mean Shape of Woman of course, the rumoured Peggy Gou collab (was confirmed by her producer in 2024), the fact Runway is made with Bruno Mars and D'Mile, the fact Cirkut and Watt are involved. The rumour about Madonna was already existing in 2024 when she was spotted at Shangri LA suring her tour break, Gaga was working there for MAYHEM.

Not to get ahead of myself but I feel that if the Collab EP rumor is true her monthly listeners are gonna go up to the point she's potentially going to surpass her previous record.
