My family has been pestering me to watch 0 nonstop so I will when I find the time. They tell me it’s really good. Have you heard of myanimelist? It’s a useful database to find shows to watch. Just bear in mind that newer shows tend to have overinflated ratings (that gradually correct themselves). This also means that older shows that are really good might have slightly lower scores. Actual masterpieces (like Stein’s Gate) will retain their high rating forever. I haven't heard of it before! Thank you! And I'll be looking forward to discussing it with you some day cool
OliviaRodrigoStan 6,554
Dragon Ball, but I would not recommend it to you . Most shounen anime have to be experienced as kids, if you watch them as an adult for the first time, it will not work. Same for the mahou shoujo genre. If you didn't watch Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor Sakura as a child, it just won't hit. There are some titles within each genre that could be enjoyed by adults though: 🩷 DEMON SLAYER: Set in a time period gone by, the story centers around a group of elite demon slayers trying to erradicate a curse that's been plaguing Japan for centuries. The show has impeccable animation, thrilling action scenes, and mature-enough writing to convince non-fans. It contains mild horror themes, suspense, drama, lots of action and a fair share of comedy relief. The series is available for streaming on Netflix and its final season will be released as films. 🖤 MADOKA MAGICA: An adult take on the magical genre, the show explores a darker view on the idea of young girls risking their life for a cute pet's sake. With unconventional animation and nightmare-like scenarios, Madoka successfully brings fresh air to an otherwise formulaic genre. Those two, are perfectly enjoyable watching experiences for an adult audience, of anime's most popular genres. Then you can of course watch all time classics like: 🩷 GHOST IN THE SHELL: A cyberpunk future where artificial humans and technology put into debate what can be considered a sentient lifeform. 🖤 PARASITE DOLL: Very similar concept to Ghost In The Shell, set in the same universe as Bubblegum Crisis, another classic cyberpunk title. 🩷 SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN: Oniric and ethereal, Lain explores an introvert girl's journey from the physical plane to the digital ether. Moody, atmospheric, dark and introspective, Lain isn't an easy watch, but it's certainly an interesting story. 🖤 SUKEBAN DEKA: Absolutely unapologetic highschool yakuza camp. It's the story of a pink haired vigilante that infiltrates a school to investigate a series of crimes closely tied to the institution. Violent and packed with action, Sukeban Deka is a feminine take on the japanese mafia genre. I could be here all day, but for now, those could be enjoyable productioms for an adult viewer. I'll be adding the rest to my list I have many more to recommend. If you one day feel like trying darker, more gothic stories, you could watch: 🩷 VAMPIRE HUNTER D: That I know of, this franchise has two movies. Based on visual novels with designs by Yoshitaka Amano, the films are visually exquisite and elegant. Dark and refined, I would recommend both film for any fan of vampire folklore. 🖤 BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE: A Katana wielding highschool girl, on a quest to erradicate vampires. This one is pretty violent, and has many spinoffs and adaptations in different media (including a bizarre spinoff by Sakura Cardcaptor's creators, CLAMP). I would personally recommend the 2000 animated film. 🩷 PET SHOP OF HORRORS: A delightfully elegant and beautifully animated short production, that tells the story of a peculiar shop that sells exotic animals, often with fatal results. The animation only has 4 episodes but it's a cult classic. I would recommend the manga too, as it further explores the romantic tension between Count D, the shop owner, and Leon, the investigator that's constantly after him. There is a homoerotic element that is subtle in the anime, but a little more fleshed out in the manga. 🖤 NIGHTWALKER: Another take on the classic "vampire that hunts other vampires", with a quite charismatic cast. The protagonist and his crew, hunt down demonic creatures called "Bleed" across Japan. The character dwsigns are beautiful and the soundtrack is great. So that's another batch, this time a little more gothic oriented, to watch. All of those are very enjoyable. Maybe Nightwalker would be the easiest watch, as it contains more comedy relief and romantic elements. HEART OF EVER-FROST

I love that you included this one, Lain was so incredibly good, the art, the story, the music. I remember watching it over and over just for the eerie vibe. I haven't watched anime in a few years, but my favorites were Neon Genesis Evangelion (which everyone has probably seen anyway), Vampire Hunter D and Monster. I'm not sure if NGE is something people find fun to watch anymore though. Monster was incredible, but a bit heavy/scary.

Evangelion is almost like a 90s shounen, in the way that, if you didn't watch it as a teenager, you might have a hard time empathizing with the characters as an adult. Every single adult that I know, that tried to watch the show in recent years, could not get past Shinji's characterization. I still think the original series and the first movies were brilliant for its time. Rebuild Of Evangelion, on the other hand, is an abomination, that only destroyed the legacy of an otherwise impeccable IP. If you haven't watched it, you're not missing out, it's a dumber, less coherent, re-telling of the story, with higher budget and lower writing quality. The only good thing about it was long-haired Rei, everything else about it belongs in the trash. In other anime-related news, I made the Sailor Scouts in Infinity Nikki and they turned out very cute 😌 Some of the haircuts are off, etc, but my account is very new, I don't have too many hairstyles and clothing items yet. Sadly I had to skip Pluto because none of the skirts I had could be dyed black . I hate that they make black a premium color in the game HEART OF EVER-FROST

Like last month in reality, so i don't know how the manga goes but the pace of the first 3 episodes would kill me if i didnt treat it like background music. I swear i've watched like 50 anime with the same setting, dialogue, in the same inn. But when it takes off, it's nothing special but the animation is so good and there's something special. I was this kind of adventurer fantasy story last year on anime seturn but i completely forgot which one and can't find it. It happens way too often That and a very particular story about a prince son of giants that was a very particular anime which turned out very good
