The Israeli government is absolutely the *present* biggest regional threat. We can’t go waging wars like this over assumptions of what *could happen especially when the U.S. is the one strong-arming people with their huge military and nuclear capabilities the world over. Objectively speaking, Iran’s sponsorship of terrorism honestly pales in comparison to the impact places like the U.S., Israel, Russia, and even China have had around the world. And notice they’re all the ones with existing nuclear weapons not hypothetical ones. If they “led” the world with stable benevolence that would be one thing but they don’t. And for that why on earth would anyone trust their assessment of a threat when basically it’s “Iran is a threat to our ability to make good on our global threats”? Really not sure how anything I said is in contradiction with anything you said other than my statement that none of the international community really cares that much about what Iran is up to and Israel stands pretty alone in that. As I mentioned to someone else was a possibility, America got a strike in because we are (for now) committed to defending Israel and this was relatively easy to achieve. But like I also mentioned, more coming from this is not really all that likely. Nobody wants a ground war in the Middle East right now (people are calling this the US entering the war but I’m not really convinced at this moment that it’s gonna turn out that way) and therefore nobody is gonna respond to this. This is between Israel, Iran, and sort of kind of America now, but even America’s not gonna keep doing this over and over again. Most DON’T believe Netanyahu s assertion that Iran is that dangerous. Trump I don’t even think really believes it either, but like I said the other day, Netanyahu backed him into a corner this time. And he will no doubt feel emboldened to keep picking at this, but he’s not gonna get a plane full of American bombs every time he asks for it.
