Teletubby 148,398
Fans prepared as best they could for the launch of presale ticketing for Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter tour — signing up early for the artist pre-sale and blocking out the afternoon to secure their spot. However, it seems no one was prepared for the exorbitant prices for even nosebleed seats and Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model that enables the company to raise the price of concert tickets based on demand. But after it became clear that artists had the option of opting out of the dynamic pricing model, fans have been increasingly redirecting their anger. Beyoncé fans did not hold back their disappointment and outrage, taking to social media to call out the artist. One fan wrote: "Oh beyonce, those ticket prices are insane. I’ll be watching on twitter." Another angered fan said: "WHAT THEACTUAL F**K ARE THESE BEYONCE PRICES IM SORRY WHAT?!" A third outraged fan posted: "Oh Beyoncé lost her mind for these prices" and a fourth typed: "This is Beyoncé most expensive tour! The prices were wilddddd I can't #CowboyCarterTour." "The artists can decide prices, ESPECIALLY when they're this big and influential and could also refused dynamic pricing. I like Beyoncé but come on guys," another fan put. While some still blame Ticketmaster for the chaos, even other artists are looking down on musicians who opt into the company’s dynamic pricing option. The Cure’s Robert Smith hit back at artists hard for blaming ticketing websites for gauging their fans. Smith publicly hit back at Ticketmaster after The Cure fans reported huge fees to see the band’s Lost World tour in 2023. Smith was able to negotiate a partial refund for concertgoers and shared in an interview that artists need to set up to protect their fans. “It was easy to set ticket prices, but you need to be pig-headed. We didn’t allow dynamic pricing because it’s a scam that would disappear if every artist said, ‘I don’t want that!’ But most artists hide behind management. ‘Oh, we didn’t know,’ they say. They all know. If they say they do not, they’re either f***ing stupid or lying. It’s just driven by greed.” source "You b*tch!" ~ Rat Boy 10 1 6

When you give me that look, it's a joke!
Borislshere 52,975
The explains those prices. I waited 30 min in the online queue for a ticket only to see the cheapest was $1500. lol. I’ll definitely be attending twitter live night one! 3

Murakami27 4,415
Things like this is why I prefer concerts at smaller venues with by smaller musical acts. It's more intimate and way cheaper. Concert prices for these super stars are so damn expensive and ticketmaster is just a thief at this point. I remember going to the Monster Ball sitting at the side bowls close to the stage for a little over $100. I can't justify paying $500 for concerts. 6

I've started to prioritize seeing smaller acts now and the entire experience has been much less stressful, and the shows are sooo much better - especially because these huge venues aren't designed for good acoustics anyway so it's just noise. I saw Allie X for like $60 a ticket and it felt like she was singing directly into my soul lol. When I saw Gaga last time I could barely understand a word she was saying because the sound was so blown out

Roughhouse Dandy 11,235
Yeah, dynamic pricing is stupid but... why empty anger? Demand is crazy and the seating is finite. You can listen to the album and watch the concert for free online. Seeing her live isn't mandatory. That's capitalism; if things like dynamic pricing make you mad then fight against it and don't participate in the optional stuff. Ziggy 11,710
Even if the artist can opt out it’s ludicrous that Ticketmaster even has that model.
DopeEnigma 1,312
Glad I saw her in 2013, amazing experience but won’t be going again because of this. It’s been exploitative for a long time and why would anyone even pay that? It’s a pi** take. Edited February 13 by DopeEnigma
Ashley 9,364
I had no idea artists could opt out of dynamic pricing, I’m assuming they don’t opt out so the tour can earn more money. I was trying to buy a ticket but I’m more of a casual fan. Beyonce has a huge loyal fan base and I felt bad seeing all the tiktoks of people that couldn’t afford tickets. Hopefully they turn dynamic pricing off when the general sale starts.
