Definitely Disease. This whole "DWAS was the missing piece" story is just to sugarcoat the fact that the song is actually on the album for numbers only

Disease is the lead single while DWAS is the first song from Mayhem tracklist to be released as a single. We can objectively say this way

Disease is the lead single. Lead single doesn’t need to mean first single, it can also mean the single launching the album campaign.

For example, OneRepublic released Feel Again a good chunk of time before they ultimately released their album Native, so by time the album campaign officially began, the band branded If I Lose Myself as the lead single, despite Feel Again being previously released and still being on the album
