I think they are but granted that as of now, there are no original songs announced for the film. Its all cover songs, the chances of charting is extremely low. I also read on Oscars forums that they think if Gaga wants another Best Original Song Oscar she could easily write/do one, but if she wants her acting to be the main focus then she shouldnt write one. Maybe there are those who have that mindset that when they (Academy voters) cast their vote who could say "we're already voting for Gaga for Original Song, she's already getting an Oscar so lets just vote someone else for Best Actress".
