Normally I’d agree about the “armchair doctor” point but we’re talking about a politician here so no

It's irrelevant whether it's a politician or your dog's aunt's boyfriend. Speculating about very serious health conditions in such a flippant manner is disrespectful to anyone who's life is touched by the illness. The attitudes you are showing towards someone who may or may not have Parkinson's disease is something that can be seen by everyone, and while I thankfully have not yet had to deal with anyone in my life suffering from it - if I had I'd be incredibly upset with you treating it like some weird "pin the diagnosis" game.

Congressional Black Caucus has just announced they are backing Kamala Harris.

Starting to look like the transition to the new nominee will be as clean as possible

Congressional Hispanic Caucus & Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus both endorse Harris.

Ngl, fair play. The machinery is looking very well oiled right now.

HelloHangoverz

can y'all recommend an american news station to get my coverage from about this/the election? The only one I know to avoid is Fox...I don't know how reliable the others are and what values they push. I'm a Guardian reader if that helps so I'd be looking for the closest equivalent to their values/approach

It’s relevant because they would never let their white house doctors diagnose it “too early.” How do you not know of politicians and their history of not being 100% transparent with health issues? How the WH tried to hide that parkinson’s doc recently. Or another example: that one secretary (lloyd austin I think) and how he just disappeared from work for so long without an explanation bc he had an “embarrassing” medical condition.

If they can’t hide it (like a physical injury) then fine. But when even doctors on MSNBC are saying this (which is where I solidified my opinion) then lmao…

And as someone who does have a family member who has parkinson’s, your quote is incredibly offensive, weird, misleading, impractical and clearly just an emotional reach.

”I don’t know anything about how parkinson’s works” yeah I can tell.

But here's the thing, do y'all think she and Trump will debate? The next debate between Biden and Trump was scheduled for September, but if/when Kamala's the nominee by then, do y'all think she'd debate him? She'd easily mop the floor with him on a debate, so I don't think Trump would want to do it. But it NEEDS to happen because it'd be great publicity for her.

yes I think Tump will accept it. I think Kamala will ask for two debates, and Trump will accept one, as one has already been with Biden. Kamala will be mad that he doesn't want to do two, but she will also accept the one already agreed in September between Dems & Reps.

I think it will be 1:1 for each Trump-Kamala and that neither of them will win it fully, instead it will be undecided, both sides will declare victory after the debate, Kamala's team on CNN and Trump's team on Fox News.

While Kamala surely is a better debater than Biden, which isn't a hard thing to be, she won't win against Trump as Trump is a master of rhetorics. She may list and point out all his lies but that won't prevent her from being equally accused of being a liar and constantly attacked by Trump, and won't stop Trump from making more lies.  For every mistake Trump made, Trump will point out to a mistake she made. Remember, the TV hosts and question givers are neither judges nor fact-checkers, it will always be argument vs argument, and to debunk arguments, it costs time and in the time that Kamal will be explaining, Trump will make new arguments.

The debate probaby won't turn tides, everyone will have formed their mind and it'll be a tie.
