Most album cover arts are released after the lead single and it will be a major announcement with the title and possible tracklist and release date (maybe even tour dates). If it's the actual art, we'd be informed of that. Artists put up new profile pics before a new album all the time but they're never the actual album art. As for an apparent futuristic vibe? Colour me surprised. I totally thought she was going to turn it all around and show how mature she is by making an album leaning more on acoustic ballads and going back to her Katy Hudson roots. I think that might benefit her more at least critically as opposed to still attempting to make dancefloor fillers.
