The first movie was so cute and actually pretty good. It went beyond just a guilty pleasure romcom. I'm so happy!

The book was a corny mess and I’ve heard the actors in the movie have no chemistry, is it worth the first worth the watch??

While I'm glad that there are more queer movies being made and still support RW&RB, the first part was awful. I talked to about 5-6 others and they disliked it too.

The book may be worth a read but plotwise, the movie ended very poorly. Uma Thurman has an awful accent, the cast (besides Nick) could have been better and I personally didn't see any chemistry worth mentioning.

There weren't a lot of scenes that visually stood out either. I only remember thinking one scene (the one in the pool/raft) being gorgeously shot but everything else was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I've also heard they left out some important plot points and characters from the book which may be why. Overall, very mediocre compared to other queer things I've seen.

I'm looking forward to part 2 however. I'll definitely watch it despite not liking part one with hopes I like it better. :)

I lowkey ripped the book to shreds on my review in Goodreads. I lowkey have a qualm with female authors writing M/M books and the random use of Spanish felt incredibly disingenuous, but I’ll definitely give the movie a watch!

:lmao:

I mean.. if it was a guy doing FF books everyone would be at his throat for fetishization. As someone who knew a lot of women in the BL/yaoi/roleplay community.. it really isn't that different.

Lowkey don't like sequels to romance movies cause it's always the couple fighting or breaking up. :triggered:

That said, if this new movie is them opening their relationship and having threesomes I might watch it once or twice. :lolly:

Chromatic, Chromatic, put your hands all over my colors.

PLEASE, this is a conversation I would like to have, but maybe in a different thread because those fujoshi girlies are something else when it comes to fetishizing M/M relationships :air: and I've seen some crazy reactions when queer men call them out too!

Stephen

Is it cinema? No.

It's basically the CW / hallmark channel / straight to DVD romcom.

But I'll take any gay love stories I can get. :vegas:
