Jase 13,043
I think Smile 2 just topped The Substance as my fave horror of 2024? I can't process it. Naomi Scott's performance? WHAT the **** was that and WHERE did she come from? THAT SOUNDTRACK. THE JUMP SCARES. That whole ass scene at the very end on stage...brb I need to calm down. I'm at a horror convention tomorrow where I'll be meeting Lin Shaye, Shawnee Smith, the two female leads from Terrifier 1, and two of the victims from Terrifier 3 (shower guy and rat girl) God I love being a horror fan. 3 1

Fantina 3,270
I just watched Azrael (2024), and I honestly don't know whether I like it or not The plot is super interesting, and the acting is impressive, especially considering there's virtually no dialogue. If you're into biblically inspired horror movies, then give it a go, I guess, and tell me your thoughts The trailer: Spoiler Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

Quasi 10,798
Just came back from Smile 2. And wow. Intense, gory, funny at times, and Naomi Scott’s performance was phenomenal. It’s one of those performances where you can’t help but feel like they were probably utterly exhausted after each and every day on set because she gave it HER ALL. She is just so fun to watch on screen. Not many horror films leave me feeling icky all over but this one sure did, in the best way possible. And spoiler: Spoiler And the face shots of the demon in the freezer sequence were some of the scariest visuals I’ve seen in horror in a long time. They managed to reimagine the creature into something truly grotesque and something I haven’t seen in movies in a while. I’ve watched quite a bit of horror and it started to feel like the face design of the horror villains was getting a bit stale, but this brought something very new and frightening to the screen. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.

Real Panda 7,593
The Substance is such a weird and gross movie and I absolutely loved it. It is so good and that ending was so explosive. Its so creative too and I love that it stands out from the other horror movies this year, just visually full of color and "WTF" moments. I highly recommend it. Alien Romulus, is another amazing movie that I watched a few days ago. At first, I was thrown off by the movie because 30 minutes in and there was nothing horror about it. It felt more Sci-Fi, the Dune/Star Wars cinematography type but as the movie went on, the horror aspect of it grew more. It definitely deserves to be categorized under the Horror genre. Personally, I havent seen any Alien franchise movies. This is my introduction to it and it convinced me to watch all the past Alien movies. Regardless of the slow pacing in the first half and maybe it was necessary, the second half truly makes up for it and more. I recommend it. My 2024 Horror Ranking: 1. The Substance 2. The First Omen 3. Oddity 4. Alien Romulus 5. Sting 6. Speak No Evil 7. Longlegs 8. Strange Darling 9. Blink Twice 10. Maxxxine 11. Late Night With The Devil 12. Cuckoo 13. Abigail 14. The Watchers 15. Salem's Lot 16. Baghead 17. Imaginary 18. Tarot 19. Trap 20. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 21. Night Swim 22. The Strangers - Chapter 1 23. Lisa Frankenstein 24. Jase 13,043
I just watched Cuckoo and I fucking hated it. Frustrating considering the first 30 mins or so were genuinely unnerving.
