They were going to spew bs either way, might as well abide by the constitution while we’re at it.

They love the Constitution. Until it's not in their favor. I'm going to love to see how they twist this.

They've already been doing that since Biden won :selena:

For sure, but removing him from the ballet is going to strengthen rhetoric like “They knew Trump would win so they took him off the ballot” and they’ll point to the Biden family’s alleged corrupt business deals in Ukraine/China, etc, etc to support claims of corruption and election fraud. I’m just over everything at this point, it’s all annoying :interestinga:

Just like they love the bible, until it's not in their favor. Pisses me off sooo f*cking much. They're so delusional and hypocritical and they know it!!! and we're like hurr durr how do we change their mind and illuminate the reality! It's never gonna change.

yes, usually only authoritarian and pseudo-democratic states like Russia, Iran or Turkey ban promising candidates in advance with legal pseudo justifications that are very arbitrary and this one is ultra-arbitrary. What Colorado has decided is extremely damaging to America's reputation of being a democracy and shades the election process already now without even having begun yet. This is likely going to the highest Supreme Court and will create more chaos and eroding trust into institutions. From now on, when Biden visits or speaks of other less democratic countries and gives a lecture they might say "but you behave the same, what a hypocrisy" ...

Oh, sure. But again, it's not something that they haven't already said before. They will blame Dems and Biden no matter what—regarding any issue.

that's true (Trump already has planned to discredit it without waiting for things to happen first :toofunny: ) but it will have an impact on undecided voters and will have a controversial signal to the rest of the world "look, they exclude candidates in America. And now they tell us we aren't a democracy. They are the same" - could African or Asian presidents say to justify things in their countries or react to the West's criticism.

Well, if people are smart they'd understand that they just didn't remove him from the ballot for no reason; he literally tried to incite an insurrection. That said, I think asking people to do some critical thinking is too much to ask for in today's day and age tbh. Some people use the exact rhetoric you're describing without understanding why it happened in the first place.

In regards to undecided voters, I don't think this'll have a big impact on them. Again, the court's ruling tracks considering he tried to incite an insurrection. A lot has happened since 2016 and when Trump was first elected. I don't know what else to tell undecided voters if they can't choose between him or Biden.

This is interesting to say the least. It will go to the US Supreme Court, which is weighted in Trump's favour in terms of the political persuasion of the nine people who make up that court. However, they haven't always just obediently danced to Trump's tune, and I believe I'm right in saying that some of the wealthy people who fund the GOP want rid of Trump at this point (presumably because they think he has gone too crazy and is unelectable). I just wonder. Gonna be interesting.
