That kinda makes sense? Her style of writing uses more metaphors than direct messages and that does require a little more of intelligence from listeners. But then again she's not the only artist that does that (at all) so...

No, It’s actually the opposite. Taylor’s lyrics are extremely basic, easy to understand and digest. That’s why GP consumes her music.

Could it just be that since Taylor Swift has been the biggest artist for the past 10 years, a lot of people just listen to her in general?

That seems only to confirm how in most cases high grades don’t make you more of an experienced and/or interesting person. :iamfair:

Nah, hennies. Calling her basic is too easy.

She is poetic and lyrical af, if you look deeper into her lines, and the fact she can packaged it as basic love songs just added to her brilliance cos the songs then doesn't sounds preachy or pretentious. It just a easy listening love song that everyone can relate to.

Some case in point:

In Blank Space, she sang "Rose garden filled with thorns" which is a great metaphor that perfectly pictured how beautiful and painful a relationship could be.

Other examples, in "Maroon", she sang, 'Carnation you had thought were roses that's us', it is a simple line, but it actually says something. Go and think of it, in florists, carnations are usually cheaper flowers than roses, but they kinda look alike from afar. And it is not uncommon for rose bouquet to be filled with carnation to make it look more full because of that. And this lyrics basically says, to whoever this song was written for, that his relationship with Taylor, for her, is not as deep as he think it is.

Just a couple examples of plenty.
