I just saw it and loved it so much - it was everything I wanted it to be. No complaints. Summer popcorn fun with an amazing message behind it.

I thought the movie was amazing. I loved how it portrays feminism in such an innovative way: women can be whoever they want even though they deal with people who tell them the opposite daily, and masculinity, that was built to impress women but ended up oppressing them instead, lost its sense because a woman that can be whoever she wants doesn't need to be impressed, so the idea of masculinity has to be deconstructed so men are able to discover a real identity that's not focused on impressing women and affirming a role of leader that should not be only for men but shared by everyone.

I loved that they gave this message in such a fun and moving way :golfclap:

Omg that was SO GOOD 😭 I got a little teary-eyed not just at the message, but the stunning visuals too.

I feel like such a grinch. LOL Maybe I need to see it again. I LOVED the message, but didn't really think it was funny. Then.....Wil Farell....cringe. Don't hate me.

It’s a solid 8/10 kinda movie. It’s very funny, the plot was easy to understand, and the production set design was great. It’s very a social commentary kinda film with the whole men vs women aspect which sometimes it can get a bit meh, like u wanna go the theater to have a good time not think of this, but I thought them promoting the equality of both was a good take on it. The soundtrack was nice too. The random Ken song tho. A decent time.

there was this random dude that set next to me and he legit cried tho 😭 idk why tho but that billie new song hit different in the film

I don't know if I am the only one with this interpretation, but I believe the film is about how destructive toxic masculinity is for both women and men. It is as oppressive for the woman condition as for men that are pushed to fill this impossible standard of a dominant creature in society. Fun enough, I think the film is mostly directed at men, not only to make them think about how they make women feel daily but also how they see themselves.

It is time to build a new masculinity in our society, for the sake of all.

Saw it last night and it was a lot of fun! Totally camp in the best way at times, but funny, aesthetically pleasing, and had heart

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

Lol I really enjoyed it and it was such a fun movie. There were times it dragged some stuff for longer than it should but I get it. Then there’s Will Ferrell and the guys from Mattel.. just doing their thing I guess.

I just got back from the complex.

The film was really enjoyable.

The Will Ferrell plot was useless and went absolutely nowhere. His characterization was terrible too and the acting the worst in the entire film.

The only other problem I have is that the film didn't really manage to pull the Ken and Barbie plots back together in a way I found satisfactory. The ending with the Ken war really gave the energy of 'we need to wrap this movie up so we're wrapping it up'. It wasn't an earned ending.

Also the Barbie turning into human ending was totally unsatisfactory for me. I hated that.

They were like this in my theater too lol. When Ken showed up with his "I am Kenough" a dude stood up in front and shouted in the deepest, gruffest voice I've ever heard, "YEAAAH" :sharon:

The only part I didn't like was how the Barbies basically created a world just as oppressive as the real world, but with women dominating instead of men. Er...Ken lol. I would have liked to see them be better than humans by having an equal Barbie/Ken/Alan society, especially after the main Barbie had her epiphany that she treated Ken like sh*t and he was hurt.

Loved the mom too.

The bit at the end with Barbie talking to her "mom" while Billie's song played and the flashes of people living their lives got me good :traumatica:

Only for them to end the whole thing on a vagina joke :ladyhaha:

I stan it. Can't wait until it's on streaming so I can see it again

🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼
