BBhomemaker 5,611
Bills, Bills, Bills..can you pay my bills ? Matching outfits, 2 steps choreo and hair-saloon entrepreneuses, 24 years ago, Destiny's child came back with the first single "Bills, Bills, Bills" from their second album, The writing on the wall. Our hard working girls had enough and decided that it was time to give a reality check to some men-childs. Spoiler  Spoiler   The song, co-written by Kandi Burruss (Xscape, RHOA), has been nominated at the Grammys for "best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" in 2000 (it looses to TLC - No Scrubs also written by Kandi ). Spoiler Yeeaahh Kandi was fed up with those boys.  in an interview she shared some tea : "I use a lot of my past relationships as inspiration. The relationship I had been in prior to [writing the song], I took inspiration from itâŠthough I didn't tell them that. Now, this is the really funny part: One of the girls that was in the group was dating my ex at the time. So I didnât tell them that some of the lyrics in there were inspired by him. The part that was a clear inspirationâusing my phone and pretending like he didnât use it, driving my car and not putting any gas in itâthat was real stuff that had happened to me! But I wonât tell you who from the group was dating my ex." Spoiler Also @thegrammys  It became Destiny's Child first number 1 song on the hot 100 charts during summer of 2000, that year became even more successful later on when the group dropped "Say My Name". Spoiler Ofc Its the first number 1 of BeyoncĂ©'s career as well..and 24 years later the girl is still making the club jumpin' jumpin'. River 88,904
I think I'm having a mandela effect with the video, I remember that at the beginning there was a drag queen sequence and the girl laughed at her or something? it's the one that u see taking off the wig and then they're like "we won haha", but now I can't find it anywhere, it's like they edited it in every upload of the video because it was kinda homophobic. was it just my imagination? Je ne parle pas français but I can padam if you like
faysalaaa1 1,961
Farrah was actually an extra in this music video. She later joined the group after LeToya and LaTavia were fired after the video. Edited May 30, 2023 by faysalaaa1
