She chose this life, and she knows firsthand how people behave. You can't choose to be in the public eye and expect to have it all.

Gaga is a prime example of the fact that if you're a huge celeb and don't want to be seen, YOU CAN. And the worst idea would be to go eat at a packed restaurant in freaking Los Angeles. This isn't smart.

Considering Gaga has spoken at length about the pain and trauma that being famous and constantly recognised in public has caused her I'm not sure she is the best example to support your argument. I also think that the "you chose this, deal with it" narrative that gets pushed is really just quite heartless and unempathetic. I'm sure Britney doesn't expect to never be recognised in public, but she is completely within her rights to expect not to be filmed by a stranger while she is sitting in a restaurant. That isn't an unreasonable ask, it's basic human decency and respect, celebrity or not.

Tina Turner literally got a citizenship and moved to Switzerland because of what her ex husband and fame did to her. Fame comes at a cost, with it's pros and it's cons. I really hope Britney finds more peace, she's obviously still struggling and that's to be expected but it's sad af still seeing her have to go through this bs.

MTV is actual trash. They deserve to collapse after all they've done to so many celebrities.

I wholeheartedly agree with all this and boy do I wish we lived in a perfect world, but unfortunately you can't change people. You can't be living in LA and expect to be left alone when you're someone like Britney Spears, it's not an opinion, it's not victim-blaming, it's a FACT. I remember Gaga openly speaking about the fact celebs complaining about not being left alone by the paparazzi in LA were full of ****, and felt a bit taken aback by this statement at first - but thinking about it, she's actually right. If you want to be left alone, go get a ranch in Wyoming. Nobody will take your picture there.

Having my own mental health struggles, I particularly empathize with anyone in this situation and really do hope Britney gets better in the future, and I apologize if my statements came across the wrong way, but I've never said anywhere that people were right to behave that way, it IS sick and disgusting. But that's also the way it is, and maybe if Britney was surrounded by better-intentioned people, she wouldn't be put in those situations anymore. It's like being scared of sharks and going into the shark tank. I hope this clarifies my initial statements.

I know you didn't mean your comments to sound harsh, but I also disagree with you on some of your points. More celebrities than you might expect go out in public without being photographed. It's not that unusual. I live in an area where I have seen several high-profile celebs in public settings without anybody bothering or drawing attention to them.

Gaga's statement about celebs complaining about not being left alone was made relatively early in her career, back in the days when she still proclaimed to "love" the paparazzi. As we all know, she later changed her feelings towards them. And this conversation is not really about paparazzi, it's more about the public, because in this day and age it's actually very common for high-profile celebs to go out in public without being photographed by paparazzi, mainly because there is just less paparazzi working in the industry today and pictures of celebrities doing mundane activities sell for a lot less money than they used to, so the same incentive isn't there for paps to seek them out. Most paps working today are more likely to be found making deals with certain celebrities and influencers to set up staged shots so they can split the profit rather than actually stalking an A-Lister to get pictures of them doing nothing.

I guess you could argue that these days everyone is a paparazzi due to having a phone with them, but I would also say that the majority of people would actually feel uncomfortable to sit and film a celebrity eating at a restaurant, so I don't think the suggestion that it's inevitable is really true. And like I previously said, celebrity or not, you have the right to expect other human beings to treat you with dignity and respect in public, and I don't really agree that Britney going into a restaurant and expecting to be treated with dignity and respect somehow means that she has people around her who are ill-intentioned and putting her in negative situations. The people who put her in a negative situation are the people who decided to film her and then sell the footage to TMZ.

TMZ being absolutely disgusting trying to label her as mentally ill.

She's literally mad at people recording her and taking photos, you can hear her saying 'look at that there' and covering her face.

She is though. And regardless of her poor excuse for a father, she was seeing therapists before, therapists don’t take cases with people who aren’t mentally ill. And things she does, things she posts on Instagram, etc, she has mental issues.

She posts naked pictures and videos of herself on Instagram but then the public is supposed to act like she isn’t in front of them and they’re expected not to take a picture? Give me a break.

Britney Spears isn't any celebrity, and tho she could get away with some anonymity in some areas, Los Angeles is arguably the worst mine field for her, or any public figure for that matter. I honestly don't know why she's still spending most of her time there.

Storming out is not really the answer. That really show how he is as a partner. I understood it can get overwhelming, but a lover shouldn't give up like that. Sam should know better and take them both outside instead, knowing Brit got so bothered by the cameras and probably whispering in the restaurant by other patrons.

I just think that argument doesn't really hold much weight to it when there are plenty of celebrities, even very high-profile ones, that do go out in Los Angeles with very little attention.

And it's also worth remembering that Britney did not react badly in this situation, so the whole "what does she expect" narrative is being massively overblown anyway. I'm not sure if you have seen the video, but literally all she does is cover her face with a menu. The apparent "manic meltdown" is just a clickbait headline from TMZ. Britney didn't actually do... anything. Or are we also going to say she shouldn't go out in public in Los Angeles incase TMZ want to write a misleading headline about her too?

You forgot the "...and then sell those pictures to TMZ in order for them to print a misleading story to exploit her" part. Totally normal, right?

And I'm really not sure what point you thought you were making about her posting naked pictures. So many celebrities do that, the list is practically endless. That doesn't make it okay to harass and film them in a restaurant. If you can't understand that it's your problem.

... don't pretend that Britney Spears isn't still the subject of intense scrutiny after everything that happened in her personal life lately. It's hardly comparable to other run of the mill celebrities hanging around in LA.

Also, you guys are using a 33 seconds clip to assess an entire situation. You or I have no idea what happened in there, but apparently eyewitnesses are saying it was bad. So it's not because you haven't seen it with your own eyes that it didn't happen.

I'm also a bit confused as to why she'd put herself in these sorts of situations again... She knows better than showing up in a packed restaurant in LA. Yet another action that I find puzzling.

Are you seriously saying she can't do something as basic like go out to a restaurant like a normal person because OTHERS are not aware of boundaries and basic levels of respect?

She is a human being, she can go to a restaurant. People do weird stories that she never leaves the house, now she's attacked for going out to eat...
