One part of the album was about art, avant garde pop and experimental electronic music(Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., ARTPOP, Donatella, Swine, Fashion!, Gypsy, Mary Jane Holland and Applause), there were also a number of unreleased tracks in that style. Then when creating ARTPOP, she went through an urban phase where J&D, Sexxx Dreams, DWUW, J&D, Cake like Lady Gaga, Partynauseous, Red Flame, Ratchet, etc. were recorded. I think J&D would've been better received on a specific urban pop album that was given more time to fully flesh out the concept of. It really opened me up to being accepting of different types of music and I love her for that.
