Israel preparing to attack Iran's nuclear facilities

After Iran announced yesterday that they are now capable of building a nuclear weapon, Israel IDF just announced that they are ramping up preparations and exercises to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

Army chief Aviv Kohavi on Sunday said it was Israel’s “moral obligation” to prepare a military response against Iran’s nuclear program, hours after a senior Iranian official said his country has the ability to produce a weapon.

In light of growing uncertainty regarding a return by Iran to the 2015 nuclear deal due to long-stalled negotiations with world powers, the past year has seen the Israel Defense Forces ramp up its efforts to prepare a credible military threat against Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

In a speech at a ceremony marking the change of the military’s Home Front Command chief, Kohavi said, “Preparing the home front for war is a task that must be accelerated in the coming years, especially in light of the possibility that we will be required to act against the nuclear threat.”

“The IDF continues to prepare vigorously for an attack on Iran and must prepare for every development and every scenario,” he said.

Kohavi said “preparing a military option against the Iranian nuclear program is a moral obligation and a national security order,” adding that such preparation is “at the center” of the IDF’s preparations, and includes “a variety of operational plans, the allocation of many resources, the acquisition of appropriate weapons, intelligence and training.”

On the other hand, Putin just landed in Tehran signing new agreements of strategic cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

Russia is unlikely to significantly help Iran because of their war in Ukraine. And Israel might seize this opportunity to strike before it's too late

They believe that the deal doesn't prevent them from getting a nuclear weapon. And to be honest it's hard to tell now.

After I've seen how the West gave in to Russia and Russia ended up violating the Minsk agreements, I've become very skeptical of these so called "deals".

I think if now Iran openly talks about acquiring nuclear weapons, it's rather very troubling.

Why is it okay for some counteris to have nuclear weapons but not for others? We should ban them from all counteries. No country should have that amount of power at thier disposal.

The English translation is kinda misleading (hebrew speaker here), he's talking about "years to come" kind of preparation, in the idea, that at any moment of real threat or actual attack from Iran, Israel will be ready to attack back. right now only stupid people will say ok to attack Iran, especially when Russia is by their side and in active war.

But well on the other hand, Israel is known for their irrational attacks, so anything can happened.

I wish one day my country will spend more time, energy and money on the living instead of on war and death, than things would be much better for the middle east and the Israelis.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

To be honest, even if we ban Nuclear Weapons chances are countries will only hide some of them just in case...

The jokes write themselves sometimes.

Palestinians have a bridge or two to sell about ‘security’ and morality. Honestly, it’s insane to me sometimes how such a dark side of history (that we’re currently living) is being toted around so casually. Talk about twilight zone.

Don’t mind me going slightly off topic.

I doubt that Iran can prevail in a  full scale war against Israel, but I fear that it will set the entire Middle East aflame before it is defeated. It is unlikely that they have high-precision long-range missiles, but that doesn't mean they can't cause enough harm when they strike back if they are attacked.

Also, Russia didn't do much to reinforce the JCPA because they wanted to have sanctions lifted before they pressured Iran, and they didn't get it obviously.

The saddest truth of all is that the generations of political leaders to come will make the conclusion that there is no better security guarantee than a nuclear missile as they watch Ukraine war and a possible Iran conflict, and the world may witness the spread of nuclear weapons in the next 50 years.

Well...yeah, unfortunately. What was that saying around nukes? "There is no greater enforcer of peace than mutually assured destruction".

If Ukraine kept its nukes, Russia would have never invaded. Though it seems Iran is about to have weapons pointed at them because they claim to be able to make nukes now so...maybe that "reassurance", isn't really a thing.

Whimsical bitch
