Honestly, if I was a popular singer with the heavy demands of the industry... I feel like doing something like being a judge on a singing competition would be a pleasent break for something more slow pace with consistent schedule and where u don't have to keep moving around from place to place. Not to mention you also get to try something different

 

Not saying it doesn't still have its own set of demands but definitely a nice slower change of pace for a typical A or B list celebrity artist

I think the judges genuinely enjoy doing it and a high visibility tv gig on a hit show isn’t a bad thing. Not just any singer gets to be considered for that job. Camila really has the hustle. Good for her for staying booked and busy.

How is her era going? The album is pretty great, so maybe they saw in this an opportunity to promote it better. Bam Bam is already a hit here in italy and don't go yet did pretty well, but I don't know her situation in the states.

No worry, unless Gaga is being super weird or forced by her label, she won't ever  go. This gig is almost always only for has been and people doesn't have much in their schedule. They did this because it's  easy money. But at what cost? Their credibility?

these TV shows doesn't help much. she will earn a lot but it seems she won't go on tour anytime soon.

I’m sorry this is really not true. Ariana is the opposite of a has been. and Kelly prob has more on her schedule than anyone else - a thriving talk show, and hosting another prime time song contest.  John Legend is performing a sold out residency. They’re all good and have lost no credibility.

As someone who watched Ari’s season. Gurl should never come back, you can tell she was traumatized by the decision making process and was crying after most decisions. Kelly also has been turning into a tv personality with her show and the voice, gurl needs to get back to music. So I welcome their replacement. Would have loved to see Selena, I think she’d make for a charming judge but Camila getting that bread is respectable as well.
