this topic is just getting bigger as more people is finding out what went really on and it's exploding everywhere.

let's settle this for once and for all.

Was Kim Kardashian right or wrong for the audacity of squeezing herself into the legendary original dress of the beautiful and timeless queen Marilyn Monroe?

■ Some context for what the general public really thinks (the comments, not the tweet itself) 👀

■ More context 👀

twitter-Fashion-Conservatiooonwy2736320.

■ Things to consider:

- She only wore the original one ONCE and for a few minutes. A quick little photoshoot and then the red carpet.

- She got dressed at the MET museum in a little dressing room prepared for it. Never even sat on the dress.

- The prior fittings were done on exact replicas of the dress, never on the original one.

■ Almost 2 million views on youtube and the comments are, well quite interesting.

wrong. she could create her own iconic look for Met Gala. this always will be Marilyn's dress and this Kim look will be forgotten

People just want something to be mad at. She wore a replica of an iconic dress.. ok? so what? it doesn’t detract from Marilyn’s legacy

it wasn't a replica on the red carpet

To me it's quite simple:

- paying homage = respect = wears a replica
- making headlines = wearing the exact piece = disrespect and no regard whatsoever

Marilyn was so much more than that.

Ignore the original tweet and go straight to the replies.

I love Marilyn and she’s no doubt an icon. I lowkey cringe when ppl who stan her haven’t really seen her films or even biopics. I think in a way Kim is sorta like Marilyn, not because of her achievements or talents. But because she is a controversial  and provocative figure. Marilyn was just being herself as a celebrity so it felt effortless. Kim as a business and consistent publicity stunts feel forced but we still talk about her.

There is literally no reason for Kim to were it, no correlation no relation to Marilyn at all. the only reason they let her wear it is because she Kim f'ing Kardashian.

Doesn't have to be an issue of morality.. it's not "wrong", it's just lame.

She can kinda do whatever she wants (because we enable her authority by always talking about her).
It's one dress. It's not as if she stole it.

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.
