TimotheeChalamet 4,689 Posted April 26, 2022 Share Posted April 26, 2022 Dawn of Chromatica because I liked only 4 remixes and the overall sound wasn't my cup of tea Origins by Imagine Dragons was one of the worst albums I've ever listened to in the last few years Drones by Muse felt like a true disappointment to me compared to the rest of their discography, plus Matthew Bellamy suddenly forgot how to perform on stage for the tour and the whole era felt disjointed, like I thought they were never going to put out another record after that Say10* by Marilyn Manson felt like a faded carbon copy of his past works and I didn't find it interesting, not even lyrically (in the title track he just keeps whispering eerie things and yelling "you say God and I say Say10 [Satan]", I mean we know you're Marilyn Manson, give us something a little more complex) I remember being very underwhelmed by Sounds of the Universe by Depeche Mode when it came out but it grew on me a lot later Fever Dream by Of Monsters and Men was a massive let down, generic indie rock with bland lyrics MDNA (I like a few songs but yeah) The last two Linkin Park records. The weight of Chester's depression was definitely there Edit: the album is not even called Say10, it's called Heaven Upside Down. But, I only hear the bops after the Tropical House trend died. I can’t say the same about ANTI. It’s just not my taste. I liked Bitch Better Have my Money, American Oxygen, and Kiss it Better. Coincidentally though, all the albums you mentioned were departures from those artists typical sound or they took risks.
