What Went Wrong: Justin Analysis

this coming from a fan btw: I kinda wanted to analyze his career since he’s been in the pretty big in the music industry for like majority of his life since 14/15. 💀 whether u like him or not, it’s kinda obvious like his worldwide impact was there and is technically still there to this day. 

real question tho is like what went wrong. like yeah he is successful but he is one of the least respected artists in the industry and even his fandom doesn’t even like him anymore. his recent music output is trash and he seems over all this and probably just releases cuz of scooter or his contract. like the main reason why journal is loved cuz his heart actually seems in it and purpose was so successful was cuz it brought that tropical house kind of music back. the worse thing is like idek what the real justin is cuz ever era or everytime he comes back, he seems like a different human being and like he changes so fast with no explanation. like even back in the day (his old interviews), he never really speaks out about his personal life or what’s going on with him and just keeps that locked away and just promotes the music, post on insta, and just move. even after being a fan for years, it feels like idek who he is. ik he does have some psychological mental issue or something like that but idk. im just curious what went wrong with him cuz he used to have so much energy and potential.

Unfortunately, I think it is probably the years of drug use. Him and Selena were doing some pretty hard stuff together, the proof is out there if you can find it (There is a video of them buying meth together from like 2016 or 2017 - their PR teams did a really great job making sure this never picked up much media attention.) Drugs can really mess you up in the long term, even if you do get clean like they did.

That being said, I think he deserves so much more respect than he receives. Everyone bashes on Justice, but it is actually a very solid pop album with really good highlights. I thought Anyone and Lonely were some of the best songs to be nominated tonight, even if I do agree with their losses. 

My World was my first CD ever. I got it for Christmas when I was 7. Ironically Selena's debut Kiss & Tell was the second CD I ever got. Belieber (and Selenator) for life

I think he seems like a hit-chaser like Perry and sheran's more and more so folks gets into the hits but don't create connections similar to the ones Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor, bilie etc got with their fans/ the industry.

They end becoming more replaceable-looking, it put a shadow on their talent.

well 🥴 that was like over half a decade ago. ig ill never know if he has, but let’s hope he learned from that and changed.

He’s extremely successful and has so many dedicated fans. That being said, I think he lacks respect in the industry because his lyrics and song concepts are usually quite basic. There’s a lack of creativity + reliance on hit producers + trend chasing that turns people off. I worked for pop music radio for many years and people often would complain about his music because they found it irritating (Lonely with Benny Blanco received regular complaints from listeners. Yummy was similarly hated). I think a lot of ppl find him to be over saturated in the market, generic, and uninteresting. This isn’t my opinion on him, it’s just the sense I got from working in the industry.

I feel like he was too young to start this kind of career, I mean he's not been able to grow normally and mature and maybe gotten advice from the wrong people and went in wrong directions idk

His album is doing well, he’s had multiple hit singles from it, and his tour is selling out.  I’m not a Justin fan, but I keep seeing stats and headlines showing how much better Justin is still doing than any of our popgirls so it seems he’s fine?  He’s received Grammys before. This year the Grammys seemed very interested in rewarding Jon Batiste and Sill Sonik, so it wasn’t just Justin, but Billie left empty handed too.

I was going to add this,

I follow plenty of Beliebers, and his Justice Tour and Era stats are phenomenal, he hit a creative curb with Changes but that all got fixed with this album.
