Jpanese 219
Not a fan of the dress but I think she did great. Her energy was contagious during Love for Sale and the fact that she covered both parts of the song is truly remarkable. I know some people don't like her Jazzy performances but as someone who has seen all her tours, the Jazz show in Vegas remain my personal favorite. At the same time, I think that the most interesting aspect of Gaga's career is precisely that she tries to find new paths, remaining between two (or more) worlds. In this case, she is trying to find a way of expression that lies between the measured and precise volcality of 'classic' jazz singers without losing that punk-ish, rockish aspect that has characterised her as an artist since the beginning. In the end, the charm of her performance (and of her showmanship in general) lies precisely in this: sacrificing a bit of vocality (on the other hand, we all know that she can sing, she doesn't need to prove anything any more at this point) in order to instil an incredible energy, which involves the audience and doesn't relegate them to the role of passive listeners. One only have to see Billie Eilish's reaction to realise how expressive and engaging Gaga can be live, in case one has never had the chance to attend one of her concerts. Of course, that's just my opinion. Love this! You have been able to put into words how I feel about her! Well written!

But her vocal peak was 2014/2015 when she did all those tributes and such. I get that vocals change over time and majority of the time she is very good, but it sometimes sounds...rough? Forced? Idk the word for it but it sounds less smooth and effortless as it did back then. Not dragging her but you asked for opinions so. With that said, L4S was pitchy, but Do I Love You was better. Tbh I think she was really just trying not to cry. But even during the L4S show with Tony and some of the live videos from J&P, her voice sounds more strained than in years prior. I love Gaga to death and she is obviously still great! But just compare bang bang then versus now or la vie en rosé, or the anthem. She is about 7 years older now.. it's not weird but she has lost some range. In some songs her vocals sound heavy, strained and also last night she was not always on pitch. She was still great, we just have to realize how spoiled we were in previous years. 2014-2017 was insane vocally. I think Do I Love You was recorded in 2018. Guest
Even if her notes are not perfect, I feel the honesty in her voice, and the soul in it and I always always tear up when she sings jazz idk why
Gaga2645 2,197
She’s gonna have to rest as much as she can after the chain smoking on house of gucci. However she very well could have just been emotional; But I think between now and chromatica she should really be stricter on her voice. However if she is satisfied with it then I could care less in all honesty. She’s solidified herself as a vocalist in pop culture.

Sometimes I can hear pain/tiredness and it’s one of the chronic symptoms of fibro as well (the tiredness, obvi the pain lol)

I agree sometimes it can sound strain but it's not always about how perfect you hit the notes, you could feel she would sing the lyrics with her heart, not just singing them trying to achieve perfection, she was singing the meaning of the lyrics, not just insignificant, and that is 10 times more powerful than a perfect performance. To me this is 10/10. That's the thing with Bob Dylan, objectively I think everyone can agree he's not a vocalist, he's not someone who sings super well but when u sing with ur soul it's powerful, it's beautiful. And Ive seen some get praise for singing a song perfect, perfect vocals, but there's no damn soul in it, what's the point? To me that's not singing

Teus 585
I mean I’m not a singer and I know nothing about the technicality of vocals, so I won’t hear what trained ears will, but I thought the performance overall was still very good. Okay, she made some choices in L4S that I can understand are not everyone’s cup of tea, but parts of it sounded really strong to me, whereas other parts I didn’t love as much but neither did I think they were bad at all! Only on that ‘THE STAIRS’ she sounded strained to me and that seemed out of control. On the other hand, I think Do I Love You? was breathtakingly beautiful. She sounded soft and powerful when she chose to was it her best vocal performance ever? Probably not. Does that matter? Not to me, I think it was still really good and showed talent, and I really enjoyed it. Everytime I watch it I love it a bit more
