I feel like it would have been appropriate to go back to the old way of having a final group lip synch as a formality and then judging based on performance throughout the competition as it was most certainly not a meritocracy given the Episode 11 situation.

I think the real top four was Jinkx, Trinity, Viv and Monet based on numbers (if the Talent Show had been one star). That said I think Raja was majorly overlooked in multiple challenges (e.g. Snatch Game) and she should have gotten a spot in the Top 4.

My personal top four would have been Jinkx, Raja, Trinity, Jaida mostly based on my own personal preferences.

Controversial opinion though, and it's what I think many are thinking but not saying about the Shea situation: The producers are trying to avoid the inevitable backlash that will come from a majority white top four.

Going off performance preceding Episode 11, if this were a meritocracy, Shea did not show up at the level of some of the other girls and was nowhere close to making the final. That's no shade on her, she's amazing even just to look at and she's a great activist. However, I don't think it's fair to push her to the final just to up the numbers of Queens of colour. It's not respectful of who Shea is as a performer, it diminishes her actual achievements which are many. Her talents just happen to not 100% line up with the expectations of the show whereas other queens' did and it was unfair to the higher performing queens. She killed the choreography in the Talent Show but it was just a lip synch at the end of the day. What Raja did was mesmerising, deeply personal and vulnerable and the win should have gone to her and Monet.

Delighted Jinkx won. Had Monet won I would have gotten on board, but there were many queens who were denied a spot over someone less deserving (based on challenge performance.) Hope that doesn't offend anyone.

No I think you're right.

There's a video of Trinity K Bonet and Naomi Smalls watching the finale at Rosco's and neither of them clapped or smiled when Jinkx won. Imagine if happened the opposite.
And beside that, it's childish and disrespectful towards another sister.
I guess that "no send hate to the queens" only applys when the queens are their friends?

Tbh I think it goes even deeper than that as the editing of the season clearly was painting Shea as a wallflower and Jinkx as a barnstormer from the get.

My issue is that with these narratives they try to edit in, we don’t really get a good feel for someone’s legit performance throughout the season. I mean, once the arc with Jinkx was done, they stopped heavily showing Viv, for instance. I get they have 8 girls to show but idk it leaves way too much room for production to pull shenanigans like the 3 star thing and have us be like so and so clearly didn’t deserve more wins, stars, etc.

This season in particular felt *highly manipulated

Tbh in a weird, ironic way, despite the efforts to make sure no one looks bad, basically every winner looks bad based on this finale lmao

A boring sunday here so I was thinking: imagine a new panel of 4 new judges composed of all drag queens, who would you pick?

I was thinking

Bob The Drag Queen: she's good at pretty much everything

Raja: for the fashion and the runaways

Trixie Mattel: she got better now (on AS3 to me she was a mess)

I'm having hard times to think at a 4th name, I think it should be a younger queen to balance the panel. Violet would be too mean, I was thinking at Aquaria maybe? She's a great performer so she can judge lipsync, performances etc.

P.s. I would consider Latrice, Monet, Bendela and Jinkx if one of these declined.

I agree with the three

  • Bob – comedy, hosting
  • Trixie – music, marketing/branding
  • Raja – fashion

The fourth would need to be either:

  • the villain character ('villain' like Michelle, i.e. the one who gives the harsh critiques that drive narratives that you don't want the others to say). I think Raja could do it. Maybe Bianca, who would also represent older styles of drag
  • someone who is more acting-focussed like Jinkx.
  • a pageant queen somewhere IDK
  • someone who is a strong dancer/lipsyncer like Shea

hmmm 4 queen judges panel...

Bob - a queen of all queens, comedy, music, etc. would be so good

Willam - professional (when she wants), keeps herself relevant, cares about queens but keeps it completely real

Violet - the ultimate beauty queen, serving villain but talented

Katya - the kooky judge, dancing queen, lived many experiences

Alaska, Raja, and Bob The Drag Queen on lock, the 4th should change depending on the challenge :bon:

I'm loving your names. Willam seems impossible expecially if Ru would be executive producer or something. Alaska is too in "character" to be a judge imho.

The fact that we all agreed with Roberta The Drag Queen  the best ever

Have you listened to Race Chaser? Imo Alaska gives very poised, measured critique while still delivering self-ironicizing humor. Imo she and Bob are host material.
