I still try my best not to stream songs from Kesha, Doja, Katy and Kim's (even Azealia.) I mean it was hard to not let Dr. **** profit since f***** just got a whole ass company and ghostwriter backing himslef up. B**** is old but experienced, trying to boycott him is like trying to wipe out the whole grass on the field. So I guess one day maybe I'll just shake off my concern once I getting tired of everything (I even listen to Knaye West so...) But right now Dbree would be my best friend for a while, even that doesn't makes me looks any nobel.

I don't think we should be protesting anyone trying to make a living. I mean should we protest sex workers for sleeping with sleazy men to make a living. 

I am not comparing Kim to a sex worker either. I just think people gotta eat. 

I don't even blame any of the women who went along with Weinstein for years. 

Luke is already on notice. If he messes up again like he messed up with Kesha he will be hung out to dry like Weinstein. Because of Kesha the next person will stand up to him.

This deflection is precisely what I mean. If you are boycotting Kim out of a moral duty, why make exemptions that are convenient to your moral compass? 

Nobody does this tho. I’ve been to every Kim/Kesha/Luke thread and nobody does this, they just keep point out that working with something because of a contract and working with someone out of your own fruition are two completely different things. Like, I don’t think anyone is trying to be a saint or anything, because we all make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean we should let everyone do whatever they want without calling them out.

I mean obviously I’m exaggerating but I personally have seen people deflect when I raise the concern and even other users have pointed it out, which is why I felt like it might need its own thread. I just don’t understand how some call out an artist for working with a rapist but are justifying their support of other artists that “are not voluntarily working with him”. Like make it make sense you know? You can’t be enjoying music that benefits Luke and then point the finger at Kim. That’s literally hypocrisy.

I don’t care that Dr. Like still benefits from Doja (PSA: He benefits from Rainbow too). Kim has also openly supported Dr. Luke. Idc idc idc. Kim sold her soul for some mediocre songs. I've made my stance explicitly clear in at least 2 threads, but what I will say is I never blatantly said I "support" Doja or the many other artists he has worked with. My main focus was the content of this EP mixed with the Kesha/Luke scandal plus Kim's reluctance to speak about Luke and seemingly downplaying Kesha's experience, all of that is why I spoke out against the EP and I question Kim's artistry as I think she's a great singer but she isn't showcasing it. I'm not really into much of her music anyway, most is too bubblegum for me. But I really did like Icy and she did an acoustic performance of Malibu. Most of her tracks are way too autotuned for my taste. 

I have personal reasons why I cannot support Kim and this new project, but it just feels wrong. It feels similar to when I finish an AMAZING movie and then "Produced by The Weinsteins" comes up on my screen. I instantly feel gross. But that is not everyone's experience so I can only speak for me. 

As I've said before and I'll say it again: If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

The only acceptable way to listen to any dr luke music is to burn it to a cd/cassette tape/USB drive or play it directly from your computer files. Do not stream it, it’s that simple. You all act like not giving a rapist money is the most impossible thing.

If you're offering perspective on people's double standards with their decisions, maybe zoom out and get the full perspective. Kim working with Luke is pretty lame and disappointing but everyone screaming free Kesha while listing to other artists all the time aren't any better. Piling onto Kim doesn't give you the clout you think it does.
