holy scheisse 22,274
Rihanna/Calvin Harris “we found love” definitely was emulated a million times over. But that song itself is amazing. I disagree this was a bad time for pop music it’s just old at this point and I think that young ppl like to criticize it cuz that’s exactly what young ppl do they think older music is lame. But eventually it will become vintage just like how emo/punk pop is coming back now lol

Starmie25 18,784
Quick rant: The last few years of this traditional disco/funk trend has felt incredibly clean with its glossy, shimmering, bassy beats. lowkey glad that wasn't around much in the early 2010s and if it was it was usually heightend and warped into more electronic styles. #thatsjustmethough
Chesescake 4,004
Yes and no bc we got this People building this pure entertaining crazy cheesy highly beefable diva era to let themselves forget that depress and sad is still here, then it's goes more and more depress bc artist like Lorde, so depress that it's started to become another form of entertainment, meme, aesthetics. Then a few years later there came a time where Drake was the number 1 star and music became less poppy and fun and we were all complaining that music is boring because we missed the pop bops. Does anyone else remember that dark and depressing time in the mid 2010's? For me it felt like when Billie showed up with her musical style that pop started getting more interesting again... and then we got Chromatica. Imagine how boring life would have been these last couple of years if we didn't have that. agree with all of this. early 10s was at least v fun and served pop bops. the mid/late 10s had boring, repetitive music I'm starting to feel more excited about pop since the past couple of years with Billie and Doja she/her 👹🖤 | Vanish Into You 🎶 HMHAS 🎶
Lucas 27,052
Far from the worst! Artists were giving full eras, performances, amazing visuals, we had catchy bops, pop girls were on fire, most artists were actual entertainers, music award shows were events and talked about days before and days after... These past few years would be the worst I guess. Lazy eras, nothing exciting, everything is predictable... ugh

It was Lana Adele was and is one of those rare exceptions that pops out against the mainstream music trends and like an extension of Amy Winehouse Lana totally changed the music landscape is the most influential artist of the 2010s for a reason. Her sound, voice and aesthetics.

Meat 18,962
It was the best time because that’s when Gaga reinvented pop music. She not only made catchy music but taught the girls how to serve FASHION. No one was doing it like her. And till date no one has managed to debut with a bigger album than The Fame
