Republicans changed the filibuster rules to now require a simple majority to confirm a SC justice, they can try to delay but it wont do much. 9 minutes ago, Bonkers said: "progressives" sitting on the side lines making progress harder to achieve just because they want to be right is actual reason change isn't happening as fast as we'd like. It's time to stop blaming progressives for this, it's tiring. Theyre the ones fighting to save Bidens agenda here. The progressive caucus makes up nearly half the democratic delegation in Congress and are always there when the votes are needed.

There were severals Senate seats we would have except for progressives being furious their candidate lost the primary. With those wins, Manchin and Sinema would be irrelevant. Being a group that actively attacks joe biden and the democratic party while taking NO RESPONSIBILITY for the harm that causes our mutual interest - is exhausting. HorusRa2 5,005
while joe continues to do nothing and ruins his entire presidency, we continue to have people defending Joe barely doing the bare minimum as president which is having a D next to his name instead of R. There's no excuse for his inability to be an effective president. He had everything going for him and now his approval level is right there with Trumps. And what's worse is Biden's doing it not because he's a baboon like Trump but because he's seen as doing literally nothing as people continue to struggle. We will be getting what we always got. It won't be a republican extremist but it'll still be a centrist with progressive identity.
mindintransit 465
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Harvard grad. Federal district court judge for eight years. Appointed to Court of Appeals in 2021 by Biden. Federal court judges are appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. Republicans have tried to block all his federal court appointments but all Democrats voted to confirm her in 2021 (even three Republicans). Republicans will get ugly - foaming at the mouth ugly - at confirmation hearings because she is brilliant and only 50 years old.
gothicdream 39,660
This is great, but I also have no confidence the a**holes in the Senate will allow Biden's pick in. We saw what happened with Garland. I am really glad Breyer is trying though. I love RBG forever and always, but her choosing not to retire has really set us up for some scary sh*t in the coming months.
