Worst and Best Gaga Moment

Best: TFM era. It’s when I fell in love with Gaga. Nobody, and I repeat NOBODY, was doing it like her. From the music, to the videos, to the tour, to the interviews, to the live performances — she became a rockstar, legend, fashion icon, lgbt activist and more, all while refining what it means to be a pop star.

Worst: That period from late 2014 to late 2016. ARTPOP had come and gone, and although it was a fun era, it left a bad taste with critics and the GP. As a fan, I really felt disconnected from Gaga bc she was between albums and she wasn’t anywhere to be found on the radio or top 40. It was as if she had left the chat of pop culture. I feared that she was sliding into obscurity and that she would be known only for her past hits. It couldn’t have felt like a bigger downfall at the time, because in 2009-2012 her starpower shined so bright

Best: ASIB era. Honestly this felt like one of the biggest celebrity comebacks, like ever. If in 2015 I was surprised at how irrelevant Gaga had become, in 2019 I was even more shocked (in a good way) at how well her career was once again taking off, and in completely new directions. This era not only cemented Gaga as an eternal A-lister, but also an OSCAR NOMINATED actress?! Watching her win awards right and left in some of her most iconic couture looks was so redeeming as a fan who supported her during her lowest points. This era gave us movie star-Gaga, but it also gave us an Adele-esque Gaga, with some of her strongest power ballads to date, and a new, mature adult-contemporary direction (shallow, ARUTW, LWIF, INLA).
