I think the album version is the superior one, so I didn’t really put the HL demo on a pedestal. I was just curious about how the original version sounded and wanted to hear the full thing. If people had gotten the demo and realized they didn’t like it would be one thing. The problem is that what we got isn’t the demo, it’s a haphazard recreation of it made with the final version’s vocals that do not fit the instrumental, so fans are still gonna be wondering what the demo actually sounded like. I remember having such a visceral reaction to listening to it and I thought it was so special. I love the album version for taking it in a more forestry house direction but I still really wanted the original concept fully realized. I haven’t listened to the remix yet but hearing that they cut out the elements that made the leak so compelling is such a disappointment. Honestly they could have kept the whole remix album and given me a fully realized Babylon and I’d be happy. I’m sure I’ll end up liking all three versions but damn, man. ceminay 587 Posted September 2, 2021 Share Posted September 2, 2021 I haven’t listened to it but I’m sure if it was the best song on Earth, fans would still find a way to complain… Nobody has even heard a complete verse or chorus of the original Haus Labs version yet… But somehow so many fans say they prefer it to the original or only listen to mashups made by other fans. It’s totally fine to do so, but I’ve never seen so much hysteria over a song that nobody has even heard yet. People are setting themselves up to be disappointed for no valid reason. This they gave us the exact song from the Haus labs clip, when everyone has been asking for the “Haus labs version” for years.
