I was thinking about this movie the other day. Considering what it’s about, a month seems reasonable. But then again I know nothing about movies. :huntyga:

I am questioning the short period for the shootings like judging from the cast and the director I though she will be busy pretty long time

I think all the weeks of silence were meant for her to work on this project

afaik the "normal" schedule for filming is like two weeks, longer if the project is more ambitious/needs more actors/has many locations so one month is a lot.

My point still stands

not really tho because whether it succeeds or not it’s still clearly oscar bait, arguably a black comedy angle would make an even stronger argument for bait. Also I’m not setting expectations high for reception at all just knowing that awards films aren’t usually successful with the gp anyways, ASIB was more of a mix of blockbuster and awards film while this is already clearly a more traditional awards film

Guys, please calm down about Oscars and awards. You know what this fandom is like. If she isn't nominated everyone will be calling it a flop and its just not realistic or fair to expect her to be nominated for every acting role she does. We don't even know if it's an Oscar bait role.

Have you read the plot + the director + cast? This is absolutely an Oscar bait movie and role. Regardless of whether they take a serious drama or a more black comedy approach (which is unlikely honestly but still).

Without a script we don't know. There's plenty of Oscar winner heavy movies that don't get nommed. For all we know they could be taking a black comedy angle on this story. My point still stands. Don't set this movie up to be seen as a flop if it doesn't get the same reception as ASIB. I know y'all are gonna do it anyway so nvr mind

Given the reception ASIB had (and I'm saying this as a big fan of the movie), the script F*cking sucked. I don't know if it was butchered in editing or him being a first time director and also co writer, but if it hadn't of been for the soundtrack and their chemistry combined it wouldn't have succeed as well as it did.

Given the boxes this movie already checks without reading the screenplay I can 1000% say it will be nominated for many awards. Her performance being nominated is another story. I hope she brings it! I have faith she will though and hopefully pull a true Cher moment and win for her second major role.

Maybe this one month is just Gaga’s shooting time. It’s seems too short, on a shooting day filmmakers only can make 2-3 mins of useful material. Or the film will be short, but i doubt it will be only 60-70 minutes.

maybe for The Avengers, but normal movies dont have a whole day on set to get only 3 minutes of material

We will see. I know people will call it a flop if she doesn't get nommed though.

Just looked up Ridley Scott’s average shooting time and for example his latest movie was deleted cuz of the virus but in the end he wrapped it up in one month

omg i will seriously pass out if she wins Best Actress for Gucci :bradley:

there haven't been many Oscar nominations for actresses in Ridley Scott movies tho, I think only 3 women were nominated for his movies... His movies are not usually vehicles for award winning performances for women (unlike, for example Woody Allen's movies), but I hope that changes.
