Yeah not sure this is accurate. From my experience, its the less fortunate that are more likely to follow social distancing and covid rules than rich people because poor people have more to lose than people who are well off

Have they been seeing how socially distanced these celebs have been during this entire pandemic...parties, vacations, events, etc...I feel it's the OPPOSITE and rich people act just like poor people in this regard...careless

Well, I for example would love to work from home every day and my employer would be okay for that. But seeing that I share a tiny apartment with my bf who is attending online courses from uni at home, I have to go to the office at least two days a week because we just can't work both in one small room. He can't concentrate with me talking to suppliers on the phone and I can't follow meetings with him giving a presentation next to me. To top that, I can't afford a car, so I'm in public transport. If I could afford a bigger Apartment and a car, it would be definitely easier to follow social distancing rules even more.

“Peak social distancers are upper middle class” would be a more accurate statement. Which would make sense because higher educated white collars usually work in jobs that can be done remotely + they have higher sensibilities & consciousness on average than actually rich people (ie making millions in a year) who are much more detached than realities of the society. Also women tend to be more conscientous than men psychometrically (consistent Big 5 personality trait observations over decades) so that’s also not surprising. 

$230,000 pre-tax household income for married couple (US income is nearly always quoted pre-tax, correct me if I’m wrong in this particular instance) is gonna be like $160,000 net in NY... In areas where you can get higher paying jobs, housing prices & insurance costs are also significantly higher. More than half of that money would go towards carrying mortgage, car lease and insurances....

It's good I'm not the only one who's noticed this myself. I'm not talking about celebrities but in general, the more well-off sections of society in my experience have been very diligent with responding to government guidelines. Wearing masks, staying at home, keeping 2m distance and so on. Whenever I saw someone not paying attention to these measures, they tended to be of a working class background. Now, obviously, there are reasons why this may be so. The less money you have, you won't be able to afford multiple masks, you might have lost your job or not be able to do a low-paid job from home and you may live in cramped conditions or even shoulder-to-shoulder with other people making social distancing harder. But not all working class people are in situations this dire. Working class doesn't necessarily mean "poor." They just have less money than the uber-rich. And just because you don't have much money doesn't mean you can't act entitled or think you're above it all. Also, poorer sections of society are already sick of being kicked around by forces bigger than them, who feel like they get a raw deal enough as it is, they lost faith in the government long ago when it failed them. So, to be under new restrictions from the government, tightening their way of living even more than it is already, might make more than a few break. So, to me, it makes sense that the poor would be less likely to respond well to guidelines. I notice the conservatives tend to support government more in general (or at least, up until fairly recently). Its only been in recent years that conservatism seems to have taken a weird segway into being anti-government of late. Before that, it was the liberals who were mostly anti-government. The world is weird how it turns and it twirls.
